10-1 : national seed
9-2 or 8-3 : 1st round home game but hit the road for the 2nd round unless the seed loses.

How about at 7-4?

I'd say still in xthumbsupx

It's funny to watch so many people change their tune after App loses one game.

They beat Michigan and are invinsible.

They lose to Woffie and talk of 8-3 or 9-2 finishes are abroad.

But methinks they are in.xcoffeex

The injury to Edwards also makes a difference xpeacex

Does Wofford make it at 8-3 with a loss to Gardner-Webb? Don't get too big for your britches down there after your big win boys.xbowx

asu is in at 10-1 9-2 and 8-3 and would be at 7-4 but bc of the lr win that wouldnt give us enough d1 wins...
i think we will have a home game even at 8-3 due to the attendance we have

as long as Armanti is able to comeback we should be able to take care of business.

the biggest games to App as long as we win out (To get one of the two 1 seeds)would be these upset possiblities for the teams above them-

10/6 - Montana vs. E Washingotn
10/13 - UNI vs. Southern Illinois
10/27 - UNI vs. Youngstown St.
11/10 - UMASS vs. New Hampshire
11/17 - UMASS at Hofstra
11/17 - Montana at Montana State

Homefield is crucial in getting to Chattanooga and I think a win for the underdog against 2 of these teams (and App winning out) would get us one of the two 1 seeds IMO.

No way a 9-3 Wofford team doesn't get in. that would be a shame if that were to happen. But I think you are underestimating yourself.... just a bit.

Ummm. Guess you think the win over Michigan doesn't compensate at least a little.

I don't know, with all the threads about Delaware State and Samford getting in, I don't know if many spots will be available.:D

But, I suspect a win over Western would get you in.:D

agreed.

The part I question is do you get in at 8-3 if your losses aren't to "rivals" or "contenders" I.E. GWU beats you and you lose to WCU.

Absolutely no doubt about it.Whether they go 10-1 is another matter.

No offense, but are you serious?

Yeah this is a little ridiculous. With two winnable games and a bye week before Ga. Southern, Elder can hold down the fort while Armanti's shoulder heals and then be ready to roll to Chattanooga.

I thought the ":D " made it obvious. I was making fun of the other "Fact or Fiction:" threads, and picked what I thought was the most absurd possible response (Other than "Fact or Fiction: Montana makes the playoffs at 11-0 with wins over Who Cares").

The response was to a previous question of whether Wofford had ever got in at 8-3. The answer is "no", and in fact the 2002 "woofed" team was 9-3.

I will agree that the Terriers got hosed that year. But I think it would be a little different this year. You can't stumble against the lower tier teams in our conference and expect to get in though. But this year it seems everyone is a little better, especially when Elon, WCU and UTC are talking it up and looking to make some noise. We all had better be on our toes.... Right Eagles????

Sorry if that year's a particularly sore spot. I didn't think WKU should have gotten in that year...but they beat Georgia Southern and went to the title game, i think?

I was joking in the post to which you refer, because although not recently, I thought certainly there was one year in there since 78 that you might have made it at 8-3.

Wofford didn't join D-I until 1995, and has never received an at-large spot (other than D-2 playoffs in 1990 and 1991, and NAIA in 1969). The 2004 team finished 8-3 but didn't get in, but that wasn't a particularly strong team and had no "good wins" - We couldn't even beat Georgia Southern that year:D .

We still bring up 2002, but, it's kind of like when Citdog brings up the woulda coulda shoulda of the Late Unpleasantness. It's just to stir the pot.
