Special teams hurt us in the field position battle. We have to be able to stop those big returns. The one int. we had was very damaging as it gave UW the ball on our 36 yard line.

We were able to get past those big beefy linemen and get some sacks.

The best thing is that we were able to move the ball on them. They shut us down in the third quarter. In the 4th quarter, they made some subs and put in some second stringers. They put their starting defense back in to try to stop our last TD, but the Dogs were smelling end zone.

The Charleston paper says that as the team bus pulled through campus to leave after the game, Badger fans along the street applauded and saluted the team.

Really cool. I watched the first half and The Citadel was step-for-step with Wisconsin. The Citadel is a good team. They deserved the applause. It's going to be a fight in Statesboro and we better be ready or we will get beat.

One more number (which explains the huge rushing numbers for Wisconsin):

Wisconsin RB P.J. Hill outweighs 9 of 11 defensive starters for the Bulldogs

Great showing by El Cid on Saturday.

RB P.J. Hill is only 227 pounds. The Citidel only has two defensive players that weigh more than 227????

The Citadel played really good, and I certainly think they can, and will be a dominant forces here in the FCS.

Great showing by the Badger fans too.

I hope The Citadel fans appreciate what they have with Kevin Higgins. Us Lehigh fans sure know what we no longer have. His enthusiasm and leadership are hard to find. I always keep an eye on how Kevin is doing down South. Hope he brings an SC title to Charleston. Based on your coaching staff, it looks like we are close cousins: Higgins, Cecchini, Crockett, and Collins.

I have known Higgins was the man when he came on board two seasons ago. A lot of El Cid fans had a ho-hum attitude about him, since he was, after all, our 4th coach since Charlie Taaffe. I told a friend in his first season that he would take us to a SoCon title in 5 years. I still think he will.

that is called class, and UW seemed to have it!

Glad to hear it! It seems the Big 10 schools could teach everyone something about sportsmanship. I was at the Michigan game & was astounded how polite the Mich. fans were. They too were a class act. After the game, I bet 20 different UM fans came up to me & my wife & 2 boys (all of us completely attired in the black & gold) to congratulate us on a good game or tell us what a fine team we had. I did not know quite what to expect, but that was an unexpected surprise.

It really is good to know that the UW fans also appreciate a good game and a fine effort by The Citadel. Looking forward to the ASU/The Citadel game in Charleston.

I agree, I too was impressed with the Michigan fans when I went there for the Oregon-Mich game a few weeks ago. The most "smack talk" we received was when we walked by some of the fraternities and they came out and put bread crumbs on the sidewalk in front of us (becuase we are "Ducks") xlolx

DT's Reese and McCaskill, weigh 299 lbs and 256 lbs respectively.
Everybody else that started on D is 225 lbs or below.

1990, I have experienced the same thing. The day he was hired I was like, "who". Then I quickly looked up his career stats and changed my tune. I met him several weeks later at a Brigadeir club meeting and he was very impressive. He was not there 2 weeks and he had the locker room and weight room refurbished. I could not sleep for weeks in anticipation of what I would see on the field. He has already improved our facilities and staff. He has brought in speed, which he said we were lacking the most. He is also a great sideline coach and knows how to take advantage of a mismatch. I for one think he has already yearned a raise. I will be seeing him speak tomorrow at the Columbia SC touchdown club. Can't wait to get his thoughts on this weeks past game and upcoming conference play.
