Furman down 10-0 at the second quarter. Paladins are moving the ball well through the air. Still had a fumble lost. Gotta quit that to win.

PaladinFan
September 15th, 2007, 12:47 PM
ball tipped. Furman throws an INT. Dag. We can't beat these guys turning the ball over, their defense is too good.

So far Clemson isn't outplaying us, the Paladins are killing drives with penalties.

CU has no answer for Jordan Sorrels yet. He's finding holes.

O.K., so far we are killing ourselves. Minus the weird last second time-out miscue, and a hold and we are tied at the half. Why do we always seem to shoot ourselves in the foot?xsmhx

PaladinFan

If this stat tells you anything....

Furman has 194 total yards to Clemson's 136.
Paladins have 3 penalties for 63 yrds
Paladins have three turnovers.
Paladins have 2 touchdowns called back.

This could very easily be a tie ball game.

Game is frustrating. We can play with this team. move the ball well and then will commit a penalty and kill a drive.

Even the Clemson announcers are talking about how Furman is outplaying Clemson but the CU speed was just too much on a few plays.

i think the pals had a great turn out! good job pals i like what they did against clemson?

i am going to enjoy the rest of the season! i think they have a very good defense because they had the offense of clemson? thinking the whole time. If the offense can step up then the (pals) will be ok the rest of the season once we get into regular play!

i am glad so say they are going to beat up the rest of their season because they get to play someone who isn't in their league like clemson?

When someone can switch out players and still be just as good it is hard to win.

I'll just paste what I posted on the UFFP:

Just got back. Some thoughts...

Nice to sit in front of Mr. and Mrs. Flagman. I'm not sure how you got that flag in there, but more power to ya.

Clemson fans were surprisingly kind, though maybe in a "aw, look at the cute little Furman students and their cute little football team" way. Nothing compared to what you'd endure at Kidd Brewer or Paulson.

The offense just looks loads better with Jordan under center. I'm now a convert. Make the switch.

Defensive front: Wow. 5 sacks. Spiller: 9 carries for -1 yard. Davis: 58 yards. Did I mention 5 sacks? And, we had more yards of offense. How did that happen?

We could have left as many as 28 points on the field. The timeout-TD debacle, the block in the back KO return, the wide open dropped pass on third down where Hedden (or Truss) was behind their secondary at the 20, and--one everyone may have missed--the Austin Holmes strip and run the other way that was blown dead well after Austin was trucking it.

Thacker was a spectator in this one. That hurt.

Punting. Oy.

I'm amazed that we were able to convert 2 onsides kicks, but it would be nice if we could have converted one of them (edit: as in points).

And finally...

I rode the student bus, was with a lot of students throughout the day, and the lack of FCS/SoCon/Furman Football knowledge at our school is pitiful. I wish there was a way I could educate them...
