Lenoir-Rhyne at Appalachian State
You wanna talk upsets? Well, how about if the Bears take down the mighty Mountaineers? That would send the folks in Hickory, N.C., into a frenzy that would surely surpass the celebration for the Lenoir-Rhyne’s NAIA national championship in 1960. (And I don’t even want to think about what it would do to residents of Ann Arbor.)
An unranked NCAA Division II (no name change yet) team beating the two-time NCAA Division I-AA (don’t like the name change) champions, who are riding a 27-game winning streak at Kidd Brewer Stadium?
It seems strange to say that something is impossible these days, but we’ll go out on that limb.
