Seems the SLC and other conferences are trying to take advantage of the AppSt over Michigan pub by sharing their own successes over FBS programs...

RISCO, Texas - While Appalachian State’s incredible come-from-behind 34-32 win at No. 5 Michigan on Saturday will rank forever as one of the greatest upsets in college football history, it is not that uncommon for a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team to defeat a Bowl Subdivision (FBS) program.

Although not quite the headline-grabber as Appalachian State’s monumental upset, a second FCS team knocked off an FBS opponent on Saturday, as Nicholls State from the Southland Conference upended 2006 bowl participant Rice, 16-14, in Houston.

In fact, the Nicholls State victory was the 12th for Southland Conference teams against the FBS since the 2000 season. Northwestern State has won four games against FBS competition in that time, and Sam Houston State, Nicholls State and Stephen F. Austin each have two wins. McNeese State and Texas State each have one victory versus the Bowl Subdivision during this period.

Let me tell ya, by all accounts, that was a flat-out nasty series...one-sided too, in favor of McNeese.
