2006: Turned in another consistent performance at a position where consistency is key ... started all 15 games at left cornerback, giving him 40 starts in 41 career games ... notched between one and four tackles in 14-of-15 games, finishing the season with 38 stops ... led the Mountaineers and ranked among the top 10 in the Southern Conference with 10 pass break-ups on the season ... broke up a pair of passes in both the national semifinal win over Youngstown State and the national championship game versus UMass ... has a flair for the dramatic, as 7-of-10 pass break-ups came in the NCAA Division I playoffs just a year after 5-of-6 PBUs on the campaign came in the postseason ... also intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble on the season.

Ciarre (pronounced: KEY-are-ee) Campbell is a transfer from Colorado State, where he lettered last season and was a redshirt in 2005. He is an outstanding track athlete, finishing second in the 2006 Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships in the long jump, earning all-conference accolades. His PR in the long jump is 25-feet.

Campbell, who will be a junior at UM, was an all-conference pick at defensive back at South High School in Denver. As a prep he was clocked in a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash. He was an all-state performer in track. His mom is Nateal Campbell of Golden, Colo. Ciarre's younger brother Severin is a redshirt freshman linebacker at UM. His major is sociology.

At JMU: Third-year Duke who returned to regular drills during the spring after seeing only limited time a year ago (lower leg injury)... has good speed, had a good spring practice period and is expected to contend for a leading position among the team's CBs, said DB coach Joe Danna.
