He is or was a "preferred" walk-on from CMR who might or might not have received a scholarship. Does that help? :)

I'm assuming he is a walk-on, but Ash may have offered a scholly. He was 1st Team All State at LB this past year.

At JMU: Veteran who is the team's most experienced LB... part-time starter in 2006 and started throughout 2005... runs well, has good football instincts and is expected to fill a LB leadership role, said LB coach Kyle Gillenwater.

2006: Played in the final 10 games after missing the first two with a preseason injury... in the team's rotation at LB throughout the year and had 31 total tackles (15 solo, 4.5 for loss, 3 sacks)... broke up two passes... had a season-high seven stops vs. Rhode Island (2 for loss)... had 1.5 sacks vs. Rhode Island... had six tackles (three solo) vs. Delaware and four vs. William & Mary, Villanova, and Towson... forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles at Towson... set up JMU's first TD with a 26-yard fumble return at Towson and set up a second-half TD with his other recovery... had a solo sack at Towson and an assisted sack vs. Northeastern.

Before JMU: First-team all-area by the Baltimore Sun and the Washington Post as a LB in 2001 at Oakland Mills High School ... county defensive player of the year... on offense ran for 1,500 yards and 25 TDs... played in 2002 at Bridgton (Maine) Academy.
