Kroy begins his senior campaign ranked eighth in school history in sacks with 17 and ninth in tackles for loss with 27.5. Last season he finished 11th in the voting for the Buchanan Award, presented annually to the College Football Subdivision's (formerly Division I-AA) “Outstanding Defensive Player.”

2006: Biermann was UM's fifth leading tackler with 78 stops, and he led the team in sacks (11) and in tackles for loss (13.5). He was the co-recipient (along with cornerback Jimmy Wilson) of UM's Golden Helmet Award, which is given to the team's “Hardest Hitter.”

He was named a Walter Camp first team All-American and was a second team All-America selection by both the Associated Press and the Sports Network.

He was also a first team All-Big Sky Conference pick. He was named a Sports Network Weekly All-Star and Big Sky Player of the Week on October 2 after UM's win at Portland State.

Biermann was ranked 14th in the country in sacks with .82 a game. He played in all 14 games, starting in 10.

Career highs: He had 10 tackles in a first-round CFS game against McNeese State in 2006 and 2.5 sacks at Northern Colorado last season.

High School - Recorded 55 tackles including 7.5 sacks as a senior under head coach Rick Cutis at Northwood HS in Irvine, helping the Timberwolves to a 12-2 record, a second place finish in the Pacific Coast League the final round of the CIF-Southern Section playoffs. Chen twice earned All-Pacific Coast League honors and was named to the All-CIF Southern Section and All-Irvine City teams last fall. He earned the Craig Huff Memorial Award and was the team's most valuable offensive lineman.
