D3 Western Connecticut, another team SPC was to play this year. Anyone hear anything about La Salle, Monmouth, Marist, Iona, St. Francis PA, or Duquesne?

I'm hearing that Lasalle is going to play a team from New England. Haven't heard anything other than that. Also, Lasalle lost their homecoming game so they HAVE to have a game that weekend..

Too bad Wagner has to play a D-3 school. Sounds like alot of shuffling is yet to come.

I've read that E. Stroudsburg and a few of the other DII PSAC schools are looking for another game since Mansfield dropped their program earlier in the offseason. The remaining MAAC schools were named as possibilities...

I agree. I was hoping for Davidson on 9/22, but it didn't happen. At least we are back to 11 games for this season.

Not very good. In fact, I would be shocked. Western is good, but if Wagner is beaten by Western...then the NEC will face some hard choices regarding Monmouth, CCSU, and Albany regarding the scholarship issue. These schools (well at least CCSU and Albany) are already pushing for 45 scholarships.

A school giving 20+ rides should be able to handle a DIII school not going by the name of Rowan, Mt. Union, or St. John's (all who have massive amounts of DI player potential).

I agree. WestConn is a solid DIII program, but it is not an elite one. Wagner is 2-0 all time vs. WCSU and should win this game, but it won't be a blowout playing on the road to open the season.

BTW - Last season WestConn was 2-0 vs. I-AA teams beating 2 MAAC teams (St. Peter's and Iona).

Also, last season Wagner was 4-7; they were 4-0 vs. the MAAC and 0-7 vs the NEC.

The NEC is not the MAAC!

Lasalle was supposed to play SPC on the 27th of October as their Homecoming game...

Looking at the remaining teams looking for games, my guess is that Marist and Iona do not need games, and won't look hard to find them, St Francis would play if the game was right, and the other 3 need games, but Monmouth only needs a home game. Usually the NJAC is looking for games but not this year. They all have 10. Not many options left. Monmouth has played PSAC schools ( Cal two years ago) before, it may be their only option.

Lasalle picked up Assumptoin College for their homecoming. I don't know anything about them other than they are from Wochester, MA. I think they are D-3...

Assumption plays non-scholarship Div. II. Its only I-AA game last season was a 44-0 loss to Nicholls State.

Assumption, of the Northeast-10 Conference, will host the NEC's Sacred Heart University in 2007.

BTW - SHU also just added Marist to the schedule.

Who was St. Peters going to play on Oct. 27th. Maybe SBU can get Bryant off the list and play a DI school.

I know its to late, but wishful thinking anyway.

Ironically I think Bryant was a replacement for Wagner who didnt want to visit Long Island this year. The Bryant game will be ok -they are talking about moving up to D-1 and they have a pretty good team.

Duquesne picks up D3 Frostburg State for Sept. 29 Homecoming.

Good to see teams getting games, even if its against D3, its still better than nothing.

We are still looking I guess!!! I'm thinking PSAC may be the only option here. Thing is, that would probably improve our schedule, although not in the eyes of the committee (long shot I know, but hey one can dream).
