From today's Item...we've got a few Bearkats on the coaching staff of Huntsville High School's 7 on 7 football team...
Bomar is working with the QBs for the Hornets 7 on 7 squad. Glad to see a few SHSU guys doing good in the community...

Helping the Hornets get ready for the upcoming campaign are a few guys who are also getting antsy about football season. Sam Houston State quarterback Rhett Bomar, punter Derrick Raymer and former Hornets-turned-Bearkats Matthew Powledge and Justin Wells have been working closely with a growing group of Huntsville players who are competing in 7-on-7 football this summer.
The Hornets say it has been both fun and educational working with Bomar and the other Bearkats.
“Bomar works with the quarterbacks and shows us what to look for, what to read,” Rollins said. “He has shown us how to look at a defense and see what’s going to be open.
“They teach you things our high school coaches may pass over, the little details you pick up while playing,” Rollins added.
