All these young play makers in the SLC behind center, all of which are returning...

Of course, Brett Hicks, one of the top QBs in the SLC last year, is going to be a back-up this year...

Who knows, maybe your head coach will start him against us this year xsmiley_wix

Why start Hicks, when we'll have Pate as third-stringer...xthumbsupx

If our defense was a tad better last year, we go undefeated in conference. Our offense was good (when it wasn't being changed around).

Oh well, 2007 season can't get here quicker.

well see when this year gets going.

Undefeated in conference would've been something...

The thing is, if Hicks started against McNeese, SHSU would have defeated the Pokes and gone into San Marcos with a chance to win the outright SLC title. There's no questions there.

Would we have won? No telling...but you'd hope with that much on the line, the Kats would've taken care of business. SHSU would've already had the auto-bid (by virtue of wins over SFA and McN)...

ill never understand why yall changed qbs against mcneese. still you lost to us when everything was on the line. of course mcneese would have had to of lost as well.

our season was over if we had won or lost vs you. we didn't have enough FCS wins to go to playoffs.

we changed QBs because the head coach didn't want the origional starting QB, Wade Pate, to lose his job over an injury.

I'm talking about last year with that claim. Our offense was the best in the SLC, it was the defense that wasn't so hot.

i know you were. and i still dont think you would go undefeated. very tough to say since you lost your last 2. there are just too many IFs or coulda, woulda, shouldas.

i meant well see how these shouldas will play out this year. in theory yall will have a better offense and defense with yalls transfers but time will tell.

Kats did not lose their last two. I was at the Bearkats next to last game in Hammond, LA and it seemed to me that we won. Even made a few XPs to boot!

McNeese was halfway through conference, we then won vs SFA and SELA before playing you.

Our defense is definetly better. Not so sure what to make of the offense, have to wait and see on running back and WR. We will have the best o-line and TE, and of course QB.

You cant gurantee that starting Hicks would have allowed yall to beat McNeese. You still have to play the game. AnyGivenSaturday.

Considering how well the Kats were doing and then they throw in Pate...I think we would've had as good a chance as any...

Wade Pate got the nod at quarterback after missing the past six games with a shoulder injury. He played the first four possessions and looked like a guy who hadn't played in six weeks, failing to complete a pass and throwing an interception, as the Bearkats fell behind 17-0 in the second quarter.

He had no business being in. Kats fell behind and were out of the game because of Pate's performance. Pate also fumbled. The offense was going nowhere fast.

No guarantee that we would've won, but it would have been a different ballgame if you complimented DD Terry's second-best in SHSU history rushing game with a quarterback who could move the offense while not being in such a hole...we've never been that great against McNeese as is...

Hicks told me he just couldn't get into the game and back into the flow after it was interrupted.

If he had performed at his usual, with DD Terry's 266 yards rushing, that game would certainly of been different.

Well, if Hicks had been in the game, Terry probably would not have rushed for 266 becuase Hicks would have been trying to do something else I have to assume.

You keep harping on the QB change as the "Only" reason you lost to McNeese. I think the Cowboys had something to do with that loss. I can go on and on about the loss to Tx State and bitch about the 6 turnovers (which I have before on this forum) but Tx State got it done that night, won the game and deserved it. Pretty much the same goes for the Cowboy vs Kat game. I mean, it is not like the point differential was 1-3 points. We beat SHSU by more than Tx State beat us. Does that really mean anything? Not when you look at W&L's.

I the QB controversy is xdeadhorsex
