Your thoughts on 2006 FCS biggest surprises/upsets.

Here are mine:

Albany over Delaware
Central Conn over Georgia Southern
New Hampshire over Northwestern
North Dakota St. over Ball State
Portland St. playing 3 FBS schools in the same season.
N.C. State over Appalachian
Montana State over Colorado
Montana State losing to D2 school the following week after Colorado.
San Diego over Yale
Richmond over Duke
Southern Ill. over Indiana

I'm sure there are a few more I overlooked. Duke and Indiana are not stellar FBS schools, but any victory over a FBS school we will take.

I thought Appalachian would take down N.C. State, they had been down a few notches over the last few years..

Very few surprises in the playoffs, I thought JMU would give Youngstown St a better game.

They weren't the only one...ask NWST and SELA of the Southland...

And for the most part, this is only results...there were many other FCS surprises last year...

Monmouth over Colgate, Albany over Lehigh - or isn't the NEC beating Patriot League teams a surprise any more?

For the SLC...

Tommy Tate leaving McNeese, yet Pokes still win SLC title
Emergence of DD Terry as explosive, big play RB
UCA picks up two wins over SLC foes, both on the road

You really can't say your surprised by any result in the Southland, win or lose. UCA was surprising in the fact they got both games they played against SLC teams on the road and won both, which was something else, but I think any given week of the season, the worst team (perceived as such in the league) can beat the "best"...

I would say the YSU JMU game was a hell of a game. We were winning but they did what they needed to do to win at home.

To say JMU didn't give YSU a good game is nuts!!! They played one hell of a game. The two teams were very evenly matched on the fields and it ultimately came down to who had the ball last. Of course the home field advantage had to play a role into the YSU win; where they are 14-1 all time at home in the playoffs.

UNI not making the playoffs was a big surprise for me!

JMU giving YSU a better game? If JMU converts that fourth and short near the YSU 10 late in the game, the Dukes win.

The San Diego-Yale game was Yale's first game, while San Diego had a bunch of games under its belt. Tough task for Yale, who played pretty well the rest of the way.

My biggest surprise would have to be the two SLC road wins in our first year in the FCS.
