Two short? I count 38.
Never mind, I guess Colgate and FAU weren't mentioned because of single trip by the PL and an Indy.

One would be Colgate in 2003. Did one of those Florida International/Atlantic teams also make it in 2003?

If this AGS board ever bellies up, at least we will always be left with the memory of how great the A-10's 3-8 Towson really was and that they could probably beat the worst team in the SoCon. That will be the topic discussed for hundreds of years????
Tribe4SF
04-19-2005, 08:41 AM
Don't know if Elon was the worst team in the SoCon, but Towson beat them 34-13 at Elon last year. Elon was also pounded by Liberty, but managed to beat the Citadel and Chattanooga. We played Towson and Liberty, and believe me, they were not good football teams.
If you want to make A-10 comparisons, better stick to the upper end of the SoCon. The bottom half of the SoCon was truly terrible last year. That requires no discussion. :deadhorse

Give them a break, it was their first year in the league and they are not at their full compliment of sholarship players yet (since they came from the non-scholly Patriot). BTW, guess where their 8 losses came from ;) They were 3-0 out of conference!

But wait, are you saying that the PL has it tougher in getting players? I thought it has been established that there really was no difference... or was Colgate's run in 2003 that more special?
I guess what I'm saying is you can't have it both ways! :)

Duh. That was my whole point. The bottom of the SoCon sux, but we don't care. The top wins national championships.

Havent you learned it only matters if it fits their argument at this time. If it is in a different post then that in no way can be used in anouther, UNLESS it is to there advantage. How many threads do we need that "proves" that the A-10 is so much better than the rest of the league. I think there is between 3-4 being posted on recently. How come every post turns into this?

I agree that there is too much A10 "crowing" by some... but there is too much A10 "bashing" by others. So is it the chicken... or the egg...???

Four words:
Cornell, Elon, Bowie State

Towson was also a .500 team or there abouts their last two years in the PL. They were 0-8 their first year in the A-10 and will strugle to win a game in conference again this year. Just another example of the A-10's top to bottom strength and competitiveness. Another example is that 10 of the 12 teams are realistically in the running for a league crown and/or playoff spot to start the year.
PL guys, my Towson example isn't a shot at the PL. The top two or three in the PL would be very competitive in the A-10.

No we don't. It's been a hell of a long time since the bottom of any conference found its way into the NC game. The bottom of the conference is only there to
1. Be a place to avoid finding yourself
2. Providing homecoming opponents
3. Showing the A-10 that even the sorriest team can upset Delaware on occasion :D :D :D
Thus the term, "Any Given Saturday." :D :D :D

Because every time an A-10 supporter says anything, you guys get defensive. When I commented about playing easy schedules on another thread, GSU supporters immediately took it as an attack and referenced all the other A-10 crowing. :bang:

If this is a trend then why would you think that all non A-10 memebers take it in this direction? You can read over and over about where non A-10 memebers make smart a$$ remarks about the A-10 crowing that goes on but its the people from the other confences fault. Come on guys.
The A-10 has been one of the top confernces in the nation the past 3-4 years and has produced the last 2 Champions. We get it. The time will come when you are no longer at the top. It happens to every conf, division, leauge, team, etc. You have every right to enjoy it while it last. Now we can move on.

Beat 'em in the snow too, didn't they - actually a huge win for SHS - maybe one of their biggest ever?

That was a great win for SHS, but speaking of the A10.. the A10 is by far the best conference in the nation top to bottom year in and year out. :D

Only if the Griz tighten their budget so much that they have to bus the team to the NC game! That's a nice highway through ND. You can make good time on it! :) :D :D
