Maroon comes back and beats Gold, 14-7, in Texas State spring game.

That's because our defense was on fire... duh.....

No, the defense did a great job against the run, and the wind did a great job against our passing game.

There are a lot of changes taking place at TXST. New faces calling plays and a new Scheme on both sides of the ball. Also our Maroon and Gold game is a community even and guest coaches call the plays the first half. Don't worry by fall we are going to be firing on all cylinders and our players are going to come out to do one thing. WIN GAMES!xnodx

It is tuff to gauge our team off the Maroon and Gold Game because the guest coaches call the entire first half. These guest coaches are local officials and university saff or members of the ASG. The first half went pretty scoreless. Once the coaches took over in the second half thats when we saw a glimps of what to expect. The Maroon (1st team)put two in the enzone and the Gold went scoreless in the second half. This game is also used to determine who the backups will be and the Starting QB saw limited action as did some of our starting RB's.
