Bill Nesselt comes to UAlbany from Holy Cross after stops at Maryland, Ferrum College and UMass. The former UMass defensive lineman has worked with linebackers as a coach and was a former interim defensive coordinator at Ferrum. He has also worked with video coordination and strength and conditioning programs.


Gattuso on Nesselt: “Bill is a student of the game that brings an incredible work ethic to our defensive staff. I've been very impressed with him since he has joined our staff.”

Michael Nicastro, a former University at Albany team captain and standout at linebacker, returned to his alma mater as a defensive assistant in January 2018.


Nicastro, a 2016 graduate with a bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Communication, finished his career fifth on UAlbany’s all-time list with 310 career tackles. His 126 tackles as a senior rank as the ninth-highest single-season total in program history.


The Clarksville, Md., native was a Colonial Athletic Association First-Team All-Conference player in 2016 and Third-Team All-Conference player in 2014. As a senior, he was the program's recipient of the Todd J. Clark memorial Award, given annually to a student-athlete who embodies leadership, courage and selflessness.

Jimmy Le is the University at Albany football program’s video coordinator and assistant director of football operations.


A 2015 graduate of the University of Washington, Le comes to UAlbany from the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League, for whom he served as video coordinator during a 2017 season that ended in a United Bowl championship.


Le also coached in several capacities at KM High School in Kent, Wash., from 2014 to 2016, including working as head freshman coach and varsity video coordinator in 2016.


Le holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and certificate in database management from Washington. He also has a certificate in XOS Thunder Digital Video Editing Software from Sports Management World Wide.
