On their 11:00 news, KGW in Portland announced that Tim Walsh has accepted the OC job at Army. An official announcement will be forthcoming from Portland State probably Friday. Walsh is not due back from West Point until Wednesday.

Rumors to this had been running rampant on the Portland State boards since Monday but no Portland media outlet reported anything until KGW tonight. Rumors also say a search committee will be formed and will include former PSU quarterback and current Hawaii head coach June Jones, as well as former PSU head coach and current Hawaii assistant coach Mouse Davis, but this has not been substantiated. What has been reported is that Walsh will be Army's new OC.

It is a small brotherhood of men who know what it's like to play or coach for one of the schools who refer to their players as Cadets. I welcome Coach Walsh and think that Army has a good one!

I am sorry to see Walsch leave Portland. It is rather late to get a new coach too. Hope the new man can keep the Vikings near the Big Sky top.

Too bad for PSU. Walsh was a good fit for them. W/o an AD, it will be interesting who they find given such late notice and lack of athletic leadership.
