This is only the third time it has been posted and 2nd thread dedicated to it. Go check out the San Diego vs NDSU game as it was discussed for a few pages.

May not be significant...BUT:

It is significant in that rules violations lead to dismissals/suspensions, even though the statistical impact is negligible (27 passing yards, 68 rushing yards, 90 receiving yards, 4 tackles).

More then likely unrelated, there's been a rash of vandalism around the FM area lately.

There's no way that's it. The Fargo and NDSU police don't have any record of these gentlemen in their records for anything.

I'd be willing to bet that it's drugs.

Yeah that does seem to usually be the case in these type situations over the years.

That's my guess too. I don't think they would be gone for anything less.

Some rumors about mmj floating around. But no one can actually confirm. We won't know what these kids did because the school is not saying, and the kids won't say.

I think the biggest loss is the QB. We lose our sr backup, this guy was supposed to be the next backup and possibly take over.

Good thing is NDSU is one of the best QB factories at the FCS level. We have some good recruits with 2 and borderline 3 stars QB's.

So you pretty much think after Stick is gone next year the starter will come from one of the freshmen recruits this year?

Possibly. There are two QBs redshirting this year and one QB commit in this year's recruiting class already (with maybe another coming given this news) that'll redshirt during Stick's senior season next year. They bring in a QB pretty much every year so I'm sure they'll have a good competition in 2019 to see who replaces Stick.

I think Hotchkiss will be the primary backup to Stick next season and was probably going to be anyway. IMO the biggest loss from this is Engel. Kid had good size and hands for a WR and was developing. Needed to get off the line and press coverage better but was coming along. From what I hear he's had a short leash for awhile. Our WR corp has been a real weakness for awhile.

Van Dellen wasn't going to be the guy going forward after Easton anyway.

Likely. There is a lot of pressure to excel when we have the kind of depth we do. It takes a good player to break into the two deep and even more dedication to stay there.

It’s probably safe to bet this really isn’t that big of a distraction to the team. A lot of programs can’t say that...

I haven't seen either Sanders or Hotchkiss (sp?) but the kid coming in next year is a stud (Lance).....when ES is done, Lance will give those 2 guys a run for the starting job in '19.
