Western Illinois at Illinois St - No valid reasoning for this one... just throwing a dart.
South Dakota at Northern Iowa - Dinged up Streveler, a USD secondary ravaged by suspensions (and an off-field distraction), and a desperate UNI at home means this games has all the precursors of an upset.
Youngstown St at Indiana St - I think this game will be U-G-L-Y as both teams defend the run well and neither team can pass but YSU begrudgingly wins it.
Missouri St at Southern Illinois - Picking another upset with Straub out for SIU and I think MSU's offense is better than they get credit for.
North Dakota St at South Dakota St - I think NDSU can control the clock against SDSU like YSU and UNI did but SDSU will get some good yards/points through the air and on the legs of Christion.

Western Illinois at Illinois State -Every time I pick Western they lose, so going with the Redbirds in this one. Redbirds 31-20
South Dakota at Northern Iowa -I feel like this is one of those games where USD struggles. Panthers win 27-21
Youngstown State at Indiana State -Indiana State has struggled a ton this year. Penguins 41-17
Missouri State at Southern Illinois -Straub is out and the MSU offense has had some really good spurts this year. MSU 38-27
North Dakota State at South Dakota State -The NDSU defense has played lights out all year. SDSU seems to have found there offense last week. Bison win 29-26 in OT.

SIU--Hearn is no chump QB-- he will have a week to get first team reps an learn game plan. Better runner than Straub too. SIU got bit by 15 penalties (3 pass interference calls on one USD scoring drive) and the two pick sixes. SIU outgained USD 402 yards to 280--AND the Coyotes only had 100 yds in second half--SIU had the ball FIVE times in the USD red zone with Hearn at the helm but did not score a pt--that won't happen this week

Western Illinois at Illinois State .. this should be a good game. If my Redbirds bring their renewed focus and intensity, we will win. Our strength is run game on both sides of ball, so rainy/windy forecast should help us. Except their pass defense is more susceptible than their run defense .. so we will need to open it up more than we did against YSU. WIU has nicely balanced offensive attack, but we are very hard to run on, and the forecasted weather should "dampen" their pass attack some. I see a competitive game, but we should win by 10 to 14 points - assuming weather plays a factor .. Redbirds win 27-17 type score. If very little rain, then higher scoring game.

South Dakota at Northern Iowa .. hard to pick this game with Streveler questionable. but that could also prove to be advantageous to USD since UNI has to prepare for 2 QBs. USD bounced back nicely against SIU with Streveler out .. though SIU QB Straub was also injured Q1 and left Q2 with broken hand. So call it even on QB loss. UNI is finding it's stride, but I think USD has too many weapons and wins a close one .. like 31-24

Youngstown State at Indiana State .. no idea which YSU team will show up, but ISUb offense has too little to beat even a down YSU team. InSU has stout DL, but nothing much behind that DL. YSU will bounce back some and win 31-14 like game.

Missouri State at Southern Illinois .. something tells me SIU will really struggle this game. MoST is finding its offensive stride and can mix things up to keep SIU defense off balance. And SIU lost their good QB .. not sure they have another ready to run the show. Looking at 28-21 game.

North Dakota State at South Dakota State ... SDSU is finding it's offensive stride again. NDSU just struggled a bit to win 2 straight home games. I think we'll see higher scoring game than usual for this contest .. besides, I need to make up a little more ground in MVFC pool, so going with SDSU to win close one at home .. 31-28 type game
