It's good that your vote only matters in a fan poll. Don't you have something to blow or beat on at the half you band queer?

You would have thought General Sherman was leading the Patriots that game. The way they marched through Atlanta and Georgia, you'd have though he was under Center and not Brady.

Eh. Too many youngsters on the o-line. Backfield is mostly fine, except at b-back. We lost like 13 starters overall. Defense not as potent. Just not gelling very well. Probably have a winning record but unless something changes, not looking good. Got the mental thing going on now as well. Otherwise we don't fumble like 5 or 6 times, whatever it was. Congrats Mercer. You finally beat us.

Given the short history, I never thought this game was over until the final whistle, but happy to pull this game out on the road against a #17 ranked team. I think the difference for Mercer today versus earlier in the season was a higher level of intensity, particularly on defense. Mercer came ready to play and won the turnover battle and had fewer mistakes/penalties. Now just have to bring that intensity every week. I'd also like to see some improvement in the passing game, but trying not to be too greedy.

Also, I think there's reason to be suspect of the Citadel rush defense. That's a weird thing to say about the #1 rush defense, and maybe I'm just demonstrating some wishful thinking, but they've plan some snoozer rush offenses (ETSU, Samford, Newberry and PC). Mercer ran for 200 yards today. That's good, they'll probably need to persist to make a run for the playoffs.

Mercer's ability to run the ball and their very good rush defense won the game for them today.

The option teams will always have the top run defenses because they don't play themselves.

My point is that if you look at the games the Citadel lost, they couldn't stop the run. They did stop the run on some teams, but they weren't running teams. It sounds weird to say that the number one rush defense (regardless if they are option or power I) has a suspect rush defense. But I think it's a possibility.

Was at this game and have a few observations. The march was awesome. Love the cadets entering the stadium. Second the visitor side was an oven no fault of The Citidel. Third Mercer defense was spot on. I have never seen them play like that.

The cannons should be banned!

It was ridiculous hot today. Any time we have to throw more than 10 times, we are in trouble.

Mercer, and Samfords, play calling were both very good as well. Mercer mixed it up just right today to confuse our D. Plus they have a couple stud rushers that are finally getting into their stride this year. A couple times they took advantage of some of our aggressiveness as well when we overran the play. It would have been pretty watch if it had not been happening to us.

Mercer seems to be the forced fumble specialists this year. Just between Auburn and us they have like 10.

What I thought was funny, was that Mercer tried the exact same flea flicker play that Samford tried. Didn't work though, but almost.

The last two weeks have confirmed what I suspected all year - we are too immature on offense.

We lost this season in the off-season. We'll be back but not this year. Gotta bulk up these knobs

Au contraire, mon frere!

Yes they fired the 3 cannons & 21 rifles both times they scored...but they also fired them...

...at the end of the game - celebratory of...the end of the game, I guess
...when they announced that, after a loss, for the 1st time ever, in the memory of the many Marriott hotel employees (& their parents) who I asked, the Corps of Cadets was granted an overnight pass. (Goin’soft?)

...and they may have also fired them...
......when ESPN3 began their broadcast
......when the heat index topped the “SERIOUSLY?” Line on the gauge
......when a 7 year-old executed a perfect backflip in the adjacent JumpyCastle - Does anything really go together better than small children, faux weaponry, and shockingly loud noises?
......when they sold their 1,000th 12...um...8 ounce beer in the BeAR Garden ... (they hit that during pre-game...it was HOT!!!)
......when Jordan Black put on his helmet on the sidelines (2x)

...and, if they didn’t; they maybe should have ...fired them as an additional tribute to Mitchell Jeter. The “62” on all of their helmets was a very nice touch. Heck of a competitor. Thought about him a lot on Sat. and how he was, without question, the best Player on the field when I attended CIT’s Spring Game in 2014. Very sad.

We have a cannon, manned by the ROTC guys/gals, at the High School I have done Coaching/Consulting for.
We have NEVER fired the cannon at the end of a game that we lost.
I guess the weapon emptying methodology is different over here in 'Lantar.
