Let's go HC!! I think Edsall will turn UCONN around again. Not sure they'll get to where he took them last time but they will become respectable again imo. It's great to get them in his first game back, though. He hasn't had time to bring in better players and the ones who are there are learning his system. With a senior, mobile QB, now is the time to get them HC.

I'd like to see Pujols bring this one home.

Big fumble by the UConn QB in their own territory set up the score. We needed to cash in on those opportunities to have a chance tonight, and we just did there. Playing better than the Huskies so far, dominating the stat sheet for the most part.

The problem is the Officials in the AAC all came from the CAA/PL-Ivy group. Part of that move up is the endorsement of an AAC coach, so no way PL officials do any better. That game was handed to UConn on a silver platter and they still almost lost it. That said, if they start Sherriffs, or dont take their foot off the pedal in the 4th, UConn walks away with it.

All that said, great game by HC. If Pujols has Lehigh's receivers, he scores a TD on every drive. That kid is amazing.

Tough result, but some good moments for Holy Cross. Pujals played well, though UConn also looks pretty dreadful. That Bucknell game next weekend certainly looks interesting...

The outcome became evident as soon as Sheriffs was inserted. The stage was set for him to make the comeback. Holy Cross had that game but they couldn't put UConn away.

Refs were abysmal .UCONN got a lot of WTF calls.
Pujols is phenominal. Give him some receivers and some semblance of a running game and Cross beats UCONN and refs.
Cross has no run game.
Cross D is game but 2ndary is shaky to say the least.

Agree all around. They really played well overall and I also thought they had a good gameplan with a good balance of going for it with creative/aggressive play calls and formations without being goofy about it. Proud of how they played overall but they really should have had the W imo. Some really untimely mistakes between penalties and the fumble put them in a position to allow the refs to impact the game.

McBeath was a beast and Pujols was tremendous along with his WR's playing very tough and smart imo.

+1 for everyone!!! Refs + Gilmore (specifically that last call where Pujols ran into UConn's entire D-line on 4th down) + some defensive deficiencies colluded to steal a win. Since UConn brought back Edsall, how 'bout HC bring back the Duff?

Holy Cross has two great individual pieces in Pujals and McBeast but are still in need of more. UConn was as bad a FBS team as you'll ever see. They reminded me of Buffalo in 2002 and 2003. Just completely inept. They'll get better as the year goes on because Edsall is a maniac but they're terrible right now. 2013 Towson beats last night's UConn team by 21 points...

Uh-oh. Excepting Bill Snyder, second tours for college coaches almost never end well. Bill Walsh comes to mind. So does Mark Whipple.

You are probably right. I was shocked at how crappy UConn looked and played.

Duffner is currently the LB coach with Tampa Bay...you can see him in snippets on HBO's "Hard Knocks" this year.

I don't think Gilmore lost or blew the game last night...but, for whatever reason, his teams just seem to disappear/falter in 2nd halves of ballgames....it's just been EXTREMELY frustrating to watch ovah the years.
