Elon (NC): Per source, IUP head coach Curt Cignetti has accepted the head coaching job at Elon. Cignetti has gone 53-17 in six yeas at IUP, including three Division II playoff appearances. The son of Frank Cignetti Sr., Curt was previously Alabama’s wide receivers coach from 2007-10. Keep track of FCS head coaching changes here. Elon made a good hire.... I think.... he's not exactly a sprung chicken at 55 but still a good hire IMHO

Looks like a good hire. Welcome him making Elon a competitive member of the CAA.

Yes, IUP is a good D-II program in a very competitive conference, the PSAC. The conference has produced a lot of good coaches and several with cups of coffee in the NFL.

Cignetti is an excellent football coach and this could be a good fit. He spent a number of years at NC State, so he should have some relationships and name recognition when he goes on the recruiting trail. It may take him a few years, but I think this is a very good hire for Elon.

Great hire for Elon. Cignetti is a strict but fair coach and will have their offense in top flight in no time. Too bad he can't take Lenny Williams his all American QB with him however wouldn't surprise me if he was able to get a few of his IUP guys who played as true freshman to take that trip to NC, sit out in 17 and play out their eligibility. He was able to recruit a RB and WR from the Philadelphia area who both were legit FCS players but somehow fell in his lap and both have been all conference without redshirting as freshmen.

Elon just added Lehigh's OC, Drew Folmar, to their staff.

In addition to Folmar, I see another Lehigh and Lehigh Valley connection with Triscani coming down from Villanova to be with the D. Another good get. Lembo took Triscani to Elon when he left Lehigh at the end of the 2005 season.
