although not mathematically a must win, this is a must win for Delaware - very interested too see how our Defense matches up with all your skill players, and coming off a bye week we can only hope Brock has had some time to draw up a pass play, Delaware receivers have continued right where the left off last year with multiple drops... I think JMU will get there total yards but lets see if Delaware's physical D can keep you out of the EZ and force some turnovers...

Brown 31 Rhode Island 24 - Rams will get a win this season. Just not yet.

JMU 35 Delaware 20 - old adage that defense wins games goes out the window here!

Villanova 24 Elon 13 - Wildcats bring The Phoenix back down to earth.

W&M 27 UNH 20 - The Tribe aren't going away just yet.

Richmond 31 Towson 23 - Spiders look to get back on track. Towson defense just may do the trick.

Maine 24 Bryant 20 - Black Bears hungry for a win.

Brown- I want to pick URI so bad but I can't
JMU- UD is like Maine, good D, not the best offense. Will be competitive
Villanova- shows they will be in the top 5 of the CAA
UNH-wins a close one between two teams struggling
Richmond-Too good on offense
Maine-Bryant has an offense as good as the black bears but Maine has the better D

Too early for me to make that statement. Played 2 cupcakes in Morehead State & CCSU then got beat pretty good by UNC followed by a good road win at Maine.

I can make a case for Nova if that's the lead horse. Played Pitt tough before 14 points in 31 seconds turns a nail biter into a 28-7 loss. Beat Lehigh & Lafayette also handled Towson pretty well. I'd say JMU is the team, but if you look closer they aren't that far ahead of Nova (who I think has its warts).

Way too early to crown anyone here or declare a team to be the clAss of the CAA!!

Brown @ Rhode Island - Poor Rhody... pulls the upset! They have to win one, maybe this in-state "rivalry" will do the trick.

Delaware @ #7 James Madison - I think JMU will be able to run the ball and Delaware won't, and that will be the difference. JMU controls the clock and grinds out a fairly close win at home.

#20 Villanova @ Elon - Very impressed with 'Nova's defense when they played Towson. Elon was outgained by 100 yards in the win over W&M, I don't see lightning striking twice.

#11 William & Mary @ New Hampshire - I'm starting to think UNH is a little better than I thought (originally pegged them around .500, maybe they can be a 7-4 type team), and while I wasn't as high on W&M as most, maybe they're not quite as good as expected. UNH pulls the upset at home, putting the Tribe's playoff hopes in dire straits.

Towson @ #10 Richmond - I never pick against the Tigers but they can't stop anyone. Richmond will move the ball at will and we won't score enough to keep up.

Bryant @ Maine - 3:30 PM - My CAA sleeper starts it's run here.

Brown - URI is terrible.
JMU
Villanova - not sure what to make of Elon yet. people seem to forget that changes can occur rapidly in college football from one year to the next. need to see more of them, i like Nova's QB/coaching.
New Hampshire
Richmond - Richmond has looked just so-so the last few weeks. i don't really believe in Towson at all. Richmond wins big.
Maine - spent about 10 minutes trying to pick this one. then, i realized i don't care that much. flip a coin, i think it could be very close.

Brown @ Rhode Island
- Rams pull upset of Bears, avoid 0-11
Delaware @ #7 James Madison
- Dukes looked vulnerable until Maine tossed 3 picks. Hens only have 2 turnovers all year (0 picks).
#18 Villanova @ Elon
- Wildcats finished job in Easton, don't know what to take of Phoenix win last week quite yet
#22 William & Mary @ New Hampshire
- Tribe in funk, Wildcats take advantage of it. I think neither makes playoffs as of now.
Towson @ #10 Richmond
- Tigers struggled with St Francis in their only win so far, Spiders are a bit better than Red Flash
Bryant @ Maine
- Bears had JMU close to being on the ropes until Collins got colorblind. Bulldogs << Dukes.

Brown 28 @ Rhode Island 27. The sad sack Cleveland Browns of the CAA remains winless

Delaware 10 @ #7 James Madison 17. Defensive struggle won by the club with a (ground game) offense

#18 Villanova 35 @ Elon 10. One week wonder falls from grace.

#22 William & Mary 10 @ New Hampshire 11. Odd score & an equally odd win for 'Cats over Tribe. Who really knows?

Towson 14 @ #10 Richmond 42. Class of CAA proves it.

Bryant 10 @ Maine 27. To share a previous opinion, the CAA sleeper awakens

Brown 17 @ Rhode Island 24. I took an Ivy League scholarship to play at this dump? Rhody gets its first (and only) win of the year.

Delaware 20 @ #7 James Madison 31. Delaware looks way too similar to Maine not to call the same score this week for the Dukes.

#18 Villanova 38 @ Elon 21. Elon gets a good start, then realizes who they are for the next three quarters of play.

#22 William & Mary 30 @ New Hampshire 28. Conventional wisdom tells me that UNH wins this fairly comfortably. CAA always has at least 1 game that proves conventional wisdom wrong - I'll say Laycock revives the Tribe in a minor upset IMO on the road in New Hampshire.

Towson 24 @ #10 Richmond 38. Richmond's already forgotten about that Stony Brook debacle.

Bryant 13 @ Maine 31. The black bears are not happy at 0-3, which is no indication of the quality of this team.

JMU is 2nd in the country in rushing offense, not sure why you think I have it backwards? JMU even outrushed their FBS opponent UNC; Delaware most certainly did not against Wake Forest. Yes Delaware has run well against it's two (weaker) FCS opponents, but ditto JMU for their first two games. The Dukes outrushing Maine 293-103 last week is to me by far the biggest indicator of how well they will control the line of scrimmage. I stand by my statement.

your statement is valid, We need to see how the Delaware D comes out and plays against you, I think Wake was a good warm up game for Delaware meaning JMU is close to CAA level talent at skill positions but probably not quite, so all those grasping for air attempts at tackles against Wake will hopefully result in tackles this week. I think you will get your yards but Delaware needs to keep you to some FG's vice touch downs and the Delaware defense has the talent to do it, we have been forcing some turnovers, we are very physical on D.
As far as the running game, looks like we get Wes Hills back for this game, he was out the last 2 games, our Running game was shut down for three quarters vs Laffy before Jefferson hit on some big plays, but JMU can be run on ..... so well see who is getting it backwards

maybe, but it hasn't been the case so far this year. JMU is 1st in the CAA in yds/game and 3rd in yds/carry. UD is 6th in yds/game and 5th in yds/carry. I don't expect JMU to stay in the top spot by any means, but the run defense is at least slightly improved.

the problem has been when the pass rush hasn't gotten home (the first 3 games). it came alive last week, and NT Simeyon Robinson dominated all game long, putting pressure on the QB up the middle and causing him to throw picks. that was not present last year (partially because he was out for half of the season).

so my question is this: how does UD look at the interior OL positions?

I'm still not quite sold on the Dukes just yet. I think they struggle to score their normal amount of points against a stout UD Defense. Delaware, despite their inept offense should be able to move the ball consistently against a porous JMU defense. This is a matchup that UD can win I think.

Brown 24 Rhode Island 17 - This is likely the Rams last best chance for a win this year. Looks like an O'fer....

JMU 30 Delaware 23 - If this was at The Tub I might be tempted to pick the Hens. Since it's in Harrisonburg I'll take the home team...

Villanova 34 Elon 13 - The Phoenix scored a great win at W&M last week. Talley will make sure the Wildcats aren't Elon's second straight ranked victim.....

New Hampshire 27 William & Mary 24 - This is a must win for both teams playoff and CAA title aspirations. I like UNH at home...

Richmond 37 Towson 24 - One will never know what happened to the Spiders against Stony Brook two weeks ago. They bounced back with a win against a good Colgate team last week. They'll keep it rolling against a good but not great Towson team.

Maine 30 Bryant 20 - The Black Bears are better than their record indicates. Bryant can be a pesky opponent but they're not good enough to win in Orono.

a huge disappointment to see such a lackluster performance and that's being nice to the Hens, JMU looked like a superbowl team against them

The Hens are slow, poorly coached, and because of poor QB and WR play, have an anemic passing attack bordering on the non-existent. JMU is the real deal, and exposed the Hens yesterday.

If anything (such as SB's blowout of Richmond has demonstrated) the CAA can be unpredictable, but at the end of week 5 it appears as if the league championship will be decided when JMU travels to Villanova.

I'm still not quite sold on the Dukes just yet. I think they struggle to score their normal amount of points against a stout UD Defense. Delaware, despite their inept offense should be able to move the ball consistently against a porous JMU defense. This is a matchup that UD can win I think.
