View Full Version : MVFC Week 4 Predictions

Thumper 76
September 19th, 2016, 03:38 PM
Well last week was tough on everybody. Nobody got more than 5 games right. We get our first conference game of the season this week. Everybody except for three teams are on bye this week, so I picked the three most nominated games to this point in the AGS GOTW thread and added those just for fun, cause we need more than three games to pick. If you don't like that, here's what to do. Print this out on a piece of paper, take that paper, crumple it up, bend over, and shove it up your ass. I don't want an argument about this clogging this thread up for me to have to wade through people bitching at me to see people's picks. And I'm running this, so I'll do what I want :D. Anyways, on to the standings:

Man I suck at this game... xlolx oh well here goes.

Montana @ Cal Poly - I think Montana is looking for revenge from last year and their defense shows up to play. CP might be feeling a little too good after their big road win last week.

Jacksonville St @ Liberty - I'll take the Cocks over the Flamers.

Samford @ Chattanooga - Would love to see an upset here but I think Chatty passes their first test of the year.

Illinois St @ Indiana St - Picked both of these teams wrong last week so I suppose that means ISU Blue will actually win it.

Western Illinois @ Northern Illinois - Not quite buying the Leathernecks yet but I'll be happy to buy if they pull off this win.

Missouri St @ Kansas St - This could get uuuuuugly.

Cal Poly

Poly has given Montana fits recently, and they're a much better team than they have been for a while. Add the home field for Poly and they take it by a score.

JSU

JSU hasn't looked great, but they haven't looked bad either. They should handle Liberty, or a lot of polls are going to be dynamited.

UTC

I want to pick Samford, but it's in Chatty, so advantage Mocs.

Illinois State

This game will go a long ways towards showing if the birds are the team who beat Northwestern or the team that lost at home to EIU.

WIU

I think Western is REAL good this year, and I don't think NIU is that great. I think they snag the MVFCs 4th FBS scalp.

Kansas State

I do think Misery is much improved, just not enough to take out K State.

It's the best shot we've had at one in quite a while...we're a lot better, NIU is as bad as they've been in a decade.
I completely understand though...we've beaten two good teams, but I feel like we really haven't "proven" ourselves yet. Personally, I think we're still trending up, since the offense is still getting everything worked out.

Our first game against Eastern...new coach, new offensive system, new starting QB (Norvell is still here, but he just wasn't the best fit for this offense...so we have a damn good backup with a ton of experience). They wanted to work on getting the running game going before anything else (plus Lenoir was out for the first half due to earlier disciplinary issues), so they focused on that area specifically...and McShane ran for 207 yards and 2 TDs.

The second game, they started getting the WRs involved and a little bit of the TEs also...just kinda slowly working in the passing game also. So, McShane only ran for 155 and 2 TDs that day, although Lenoir did pretty well with 231 yards receiving and a TD.

I don't feel like they've reached their "peak" yet, offensively...but I don't know where the "peak" is going to be this year.
Defensively, we're better than last year, but still are vulnerable to big pass plays, so we'll see where that goes.

I am surprised it took Hot Rod four years to run it into the ground. I predicted two. He was the worst hire in the history of college football. The guy is an OL coach, at best. They took the lazy way out by hiring him from within.
