Kind of hoping that was going to be Georgetown... xrolleyesx

Others in the interim include Houston Baptist, Bethune Cookman and Incarnate Word.

You would have though North Texas had learned their lesson...

Is URI the same as Portland State? I think they should be okay.

Not exactly. URI has had its consistent struggles over the past 15 years or so. Portland State has lost a lot to both deaths and graduations.

So what was the issue with North Texas scheduling FCS? xconfusedx

The Eagles scheduled Portland State as their Homecoming opponent and lost 66-7. They fired their head coach 10 minutes after the game.

PSU is vastly superior to URI, so I imagine they did learn their lesson

No. But considering how badly they lost to psu..... they shouldn't approach anyone with kid gloves.

If you can't beat regular Fcs teams, just schedule the bottom of the Fcs barrel for four straight opponents.
You're bound to win one of them!

2021 is quite some time away. These 2 programs could be vastly different by then. Wasnt just 2 seasons ago PSU was on the same level as URI...

Heck, every single player that will actually be playing in that game is still in middle and high school right now.

Probably wishful thinking. URI is the Georgetown football of the CAA, with one winning season since 2000. For Georgetown, that was 2011. For URI, it was 2001.

URI lacks the facilities and recruiting depth of its conference brethren...sound familiar?

And at both schools, basketball is king.

Again, the exact same thing could have been said about PSU before last season. I dont see a URI turnaround anytime soon either, but 2021?

Yes they have, Sam has been trying to schedule them for years and they have zero interest in that matchup.
