Arlington Nunn Named Interim Head Coach
SFA assistant coach takes over as interim head coach

Dec. 6, 2006

NACOGDOCHES - Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack assistant head coach Arlington Nunn has been appointed interim head football coach announced Director of Athletics Robert Hill Wednesday afternoon. Nunn takes over on an interim basis for Robert McFarland who resigned Friday to accept an assistant position at Iowa State.

"Arlington has served as the assistant head coach for the past two seasons," said Hill. "I felt it was important to make this move to maintain continuity within our program. We have some important spots to fill for the upcoming season and it is vital that the staff resumes its recruiting effort."

Nunn arrived in Nacogdoches prior to the 2005 season, and has spent the past two seasons coaching the Lumberjack receivers. Nunn served as the running backs coach at Ole Miss prior to joining the SFA coaching staff.

Nunn will serve as the interim head coach until a replacement is named. No timetable has been set for the naming of the full-time head coach.

Geez...I wonder when NW Missouri is gonna get tired of Mel doing this. Seems like every time a Southland Conference Team loses a coach....he pops up out of NOWHERE for a interview. He interviewed TWICE for the Texas State job...losing out the first time to Bob DeBesse and the second time to Manny Matsakis.
