Here are notes I took from their original release.

1. Walter Payton Award winner's name spelled wrong. They wrote Josh Robertson while it should be JOHN.
2. They left off JMU's Vad Lee at QB.
3. WR Chris King was left off. That is a big one. He had a monster year last season. Not sure how he could be left out of the top 3 WRs in FCS. Heck of a talent.
4. EWU's Clay DeBord is a big snub at OT. Same thing for Ben Curtis at Delaware. Both of them had a great junior year. When you name a list this big it is hard to leave them off.
5. SIU's Garrett Clark was not even listed by the MVFC coaches. Not sure where that name came from. There are a lot of quality OL not listed who are at least a returning 1st-teamer from the CAA, MVFC, Big Sky, SLC, etc who would look better.
6. I think leaving off SHSU's P.J. Hall is a big snub.
7. They spelled the UNH DB's name wrong. It is DeAndrade, not Deadrade.
8. I really like the ability of W&M CB DHC. He was a major snub. He could be the top corner in FCS. He is the only one with size and the ability to support the run and cover as well as he does.
9. Leaving off Southern Utah's Miles Killebrew from the secondary is a major snub. He deserves to be on the list. He's a name who I have marked as one that tells me if a media outlet is really evaluating players or simply copying others or just looking at stats. Killebrew is a heck of a talent and may be as good as Jaquiski Tartt of Samford. Tartt was a multi-year All-American and 2nd round NFL Draft pick.

I added it in. In the press release I saw there was not one and I never visit that site but since I thought some folks may want to see that list I would post it.

Maybe he will but the coaches certainly didn't think so. It will be interesting to see but that argument for stars is not good. Most FCS stars who were not transfers did not get any stars. It's commonly known that stars are given based on offers for the most part. Very rarely does a player with 1 FCS offer get any. Good project for you here. Go look up the Rivals stars for the FCS All-Americans last year. I bet you none of them had more than 2 stars and most had none out of those who were not FBS transfers. Usually there is a reason a 3 or 4 star player ends up in FCS instead of FBS. The FCS stars are typically overlooked and didn't have any good FBS offers.

Possibly your best player in recent memory, Deji Karim, had just 2 stars by Rivals. http://sports.yahoo.com/usc/football/recruiting/player-Deji-Karim-27947

I would argue that Karim having 2 stars is not nearly the norm as a FCS stud having zero stars.

Garrett Clarke transferred to SIU from Southern Miss http://www.southernmiss.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/clark_garrett00.html

My point was that stars in FCS does not matter much. As for transfers, there are a lot from FBS who come to FCS and aren't good players either. Maybe Clark is a great player but you would think the MVFC coaches would have at least honored him. He only started a few games for a very bad USM team a couple years ago and there are a ton of 3-star players who never pan out.

CSN honored him as an All-American last year with just 3 starts in 8 games and I didn't even realize that. I only skimmed their top 50 and not the 50-70 they listed as honorable mention. Looks like just a difference of opinion but it just doesn't look good on paper right now. CSN likes him a lot while the MVFC coaches, myself, and I know NFL scouts don't have him rated that high. He's going to have to start more than 3 games for me to push him in the top 10 OL in the MVFC, let alone all of FCS. Maybe CSN is right! Who knows?

There are 2 four-star OL in the MEAC but neither of them was even named preseason 1st team All-MEAC by their coaches. I actually think at least 1 of them will end up being 1st team but both played in the MEAC last year and neither even cracked the list. Torian White of Hampton and Javarius Leamon of SC State.

If you are going to pick a highly rated FBS transfer who did not get honored by their own league at all last year at least go with the 4-star players who had offers from UCLA and Clemson over a USM 3-star. Wouldn't you agree?

Leaving PJ Hall off has to be some kind of misprint? He maybe the best player in FCS, at least top ten.

You quoted me, so....if you're asking me, um...my answer is, "Um, OK, whatever." I was just passing along info that I knew; without comment/opinion.

After the SoCon Coaches named a Return Specialist who doesn't return punts or kicks, a Punter who hasn't punted, and an Offensive Lineman who doesn't play offensive line to the 2015 Preseason All SoCon Team, I have stopped placing ANY stock in ANY selections for ANY All-ANYthing Team. Seems NOTHING gets done these days without one or more 'agendas' becoming more important than the 'thing' itself. Maybe that's why we enjoy the GAMES so much....tired of this 'silly season.'

You are fantastic at this stuff, but the Chris King comment of being one of the top 3 in the nation caught my attention. Stats aren't everything but there were 4 receivers in the Big Sky alone last year with more total yards, more receptions, 3 had more ypc, and 2 more touchdowns. Three of those four are back this year.

Just because you are clueless as to how good he is at this level doesn't mean he's not a top center in he league. Look we all know why some players get on most of those lists--how many wins their team got last season. Teams who finished in the upper part of a league get more cause their teams are talked about more often, and are picked more often by even league coaches (yes they can be ignorant of other teams players to an extent too)---most so called experts on internet sites rarely closely follow the performance of a player they pick on an AA team. I doubt if you have ever looked at Clark closely.

I agree about the SoCon list. I think that was just politics but when you look at the MVFC teams there was no politics there. Everyone on that list played last year and showed enough to warrant a vote. I'm not sure why the SoCon voting was so crazy.

Go back and watch the Duquesne vs. Buffalo game. King has physical traits like speed and movement skills that NFL teams are looking for. He's a very highly thought of player. The fact he was not mentioned at all is eye-opening. There are times when King took over games. Many of the WRs in the Big Sky are products of bad overall defense and the fact their teams pass the ball a lot. King is not a system player but someone who simply can dominate a game.

I admit I have not watched him closely but he has to start more than 3 games for me to say that he should be among the top 10 OL in FCS. I could see putting him on a 2nd team All-MVFC or even HM All-MVFC but when the MVFC coaches don't pick a player at all, it tells me something. Sometimes coaches can be political but I think the MVFC coaches do a pretty good job of not making crazy picks like it was brought up about the SoCon coaches doing on their preseason teams.

he did?

I saw 4 or 5 games watching Nick Boyle closely and two juniors stuck out to me as players with potential to have a big year in 2015 and they were Jerel Harrison and Ben Curtis. Harrison likely won't have 1,000 yards because of his passer but I expect Curtis to have another good year. Curtis is a better player than the media is rating him. He's like Miles Killebrew in that they are players not getting as much love who coaches in their own leagues likes a lot.

You would agree that the CAA is one of the toughest leagues in the FCS, right? There are too many good OL who received honors in the CAA or Big Sky or SoCon or even MVFC worthy of mention.

Curtis has just been to inconsistant to be on the list, but I can understand if you saw him in spots he certianly has the make up to be a good one, but he drives alot of Delaware fans crazy. Hope your on to something here with Curtis though.
