I've found that one of the better tools in putting together your own preseason poll without missing any teams that deserve consideration is to look at the conference polls that are released as conference media days happen around the country. I saw the Big Sky release their poll today so I though I'd put a thread up with all preseason conference polls that I'll update as they're released. Post the results or a link in this thread if you know of additional preseason conference polls as they are available.

Do the SIDs know something about SFA that no one else does?

It's all so crazy that a team receiving a first-place votes could finish 5th and 6th in the other.

Ivy League is usually the last one out. I would guess next week sometime but it could even be the week after. Patriot League I would guess next week sometime.

Added the joke that is the MEAC poll, where the two teams picked to finish at the bottom managed to pick up a lone 1st place vote from some crazy.

Patriot League added. All that's left is the Ivy League which I would guess won't be released until next week.

Ivy League added and we're all set.

Might be interesting to look at these polls again in mid-November. I'll try to remember to bump it back then.

So, how did your conference preseason pollsters do? From the MVFC perspective it was pretty good overall but the biggest misses were YSU and WIU. YSU was picked to finish 4th but ended up tied for 6th (with tie breakers would be 8th) and WIU was picked to finish 8th but finished 4th.

From a conference perspective I would say the Big Sky was the worst in terms of where teams ended up compared to where they were projected and the OVC pretty much nailed it as the best prediction.

I believe Western actually finished third as they beat SDSU and UNI, the two teams tied with them.

So do we get the "movin' on up" award for the biggest jump over expected? ;)

Yep, at least in the MVFC. Portland St gets it overall though. Picked 9th in the coaches and 12th in the media preseason BSC poll and finished 2nd with a likely playoff seed.

The Citadel was pretty good too. Picked 2nd to last in both preseason SOCON polls and finished 2nd.

Looks like Coach Huesman voted for Samford over WCU.

That would have been a logical preseason pick. WCU and Samford ended the 2014 season, tied for second place, with the Bulldogs getting a convincing win over the Cats during the season. Expectations were high for Samford during the preseason.

Definitely...what PSU and The Citadel have done this year is very impressive. Especially in their games against FBS teams.

Charleston Southern will get all the press, but were viewed as a dangerous team that could challenge for the title. Monmouth should get some recognition for playing so well, nice job by them. Presbyterian slipping was a surprise. Presby's defense was as good as advertised, but their offense was terribad.
