Doubt Purples will be pleased but right on the button for this rating. Overall, not comparable to their class last year.

Holy Cross' class last year was really strong. Any Holy Cross guys have thoughts on this class? Wouldn't think that any Patriot League class would be this low--even if these guys are great--surprised that so many would be off the scouting radar.

Not sure if you guys saw this on Colgate's class but Hunt announced a few more guys here: http://www.gocolgateraiders.com/news/2015/3/10/FB_0310152246.aspx?path=football

And also said there were more to come.

I left a comment on the LFN article -- there were some oversights. There are five 2* recruits; the Committee only found three. I had figured that this recruiting class would not do well with the Patsy ratings, but it will play better than it rates. (Also, I do not recall any team getting a -5 adjustment in the past. That was overkill.)

Do you see any potential standouts in the class?

breezy, thanks for looking at it. I found the two guys you're taking about. It will change things a bit. Not a lot, but a bit.

Here's the updated ranking.

There are standouts across the board in this class, proving once again (as has been the near-unanimous consensus for years) that the recruiting web site ratings (or lack of ratings) must be taken with a huge dose of salt.

Each of the two QBs has real potential but will (barring injury) be backing-up from Pujals for the next two years. The single RB played for a nationally-known California HS (Servite) and will be an early contributor. I don't know much about the 4 OLs -- two are from Florida (one is a 2*), one is from a serious program in Georgia (Buford), and one is an early commit from Illinois. The 4 WRs fill a real need in the receiving corps -- height! All are over 6' tall; the two from Florida were not rated but seem to have great potential, and the other two are from Pennsylvania. The TE recruit from Missouri has good size but is otherwise an unknown.

The DL recruits constitute a step-up in size and will have a year to develop since HC returns all of its DLs from last year. At LB, there is a 2* (from both Y/R and Scout) from California and a recruit who played at Don Bosco in NJ before doing a post-grad year in Connecticut, as well as one from NJ who seems to have good potential and one from PA who seems to have some speed. At DB, none of the recruits were rated, but one played in the Blue-Grey all-star game and one was all-state in AZ.

The transfer P/K (who will have at least three years of eligibility) was a 3* coming out of HS in Georgia, and there are two recruits who will vie to replace our four-year LS who is graduating.

From the Patsy perspective, perhaps not a great class, but (as I said) these recruits will play better than their ratings.

I don't think you'll get any argument from me that this is the case. These are for "entertainment purposes only."

LFN --

Thanks. That's a nice improvement (even with the unchanged -5 adjustment). Chevalier at LB is a confirmed 2* (both Y/R @ 5.3 and Scout.com).

Believe me, I appreciate how tedious it is to go through each recruit and see whether there is a listing or rating on each of the 4 recruiting web sites. I do it for HC and have often thought about investigating the recruits at the other PL schools but have never followed through because I just don't have the patience for it.

And the entertainment value is high.

A quick point of information for those that care about these things: The thought is that the Committee will go through and release all their ratings as they stood originally. Then go through and "revise" the ratings with any additions that may need to be added later. And there will be revisions.

The number of recruits that have signed after the official signing day period have never been greater. Which, the Committee reminded me, really makes this hard. And try rousing members of the Committee away from their island paradises to re-evaluate their ratings simply because a coach announced a new recruit on Twitter.
