Looks to be a top 10 preseason for the Wildcats. WP winner JR is back and that will make for another exciting offensive season. Runner-up Buchanan Award winner Don Cherry leads the defense.

Add what looks to be an above average recruiting class & expectations are high on the Main line.

Three tough games to open; FBS, quality OOC roadie, rival. Given how the season ended, the Wildcats should be extremely motivated for next year.

Besides Robertson and Cherry how many starters does Villanova have returning on each side of the ball?

Last depth chart I could find was last regular season game vs. Delaware:

returning:
offense
QB: Robertson
RB: No (3rd back Gary Underwood returns)
WR: Burke, Gulyas
TE: No
OL: Seaton, Wallace,Prus

Defense (3-3-5)
DE: Paris, Kpassagnon
NT: No
LB: Cherry, Lucas * , Majors **
S: McCurry, McCann
CB:Ceneus, Reeves

* serious knee injury in Delaware game
** Started season redshirted due to injury

So to answer your question: 15 returning. A few reserves played significant time and will either step in or add depth.

You can't rely on freshman, but Nova brought in several 2 stars & at Rb a kid who turned down FBS Vanderbilt and the POY in Pennsylvania.

File this under "where have I been?", but since when does Villanova not play Delaware on the last weekend of the season?

Nova may edge out UNH and JMU for preseason favorite to win the CAA, and ranked maybe 6 or 7 in the FCS.

Rescheduled because the Pope is in Philly.

Any chance Connecticut is looking for a QB to transfer in for 1 year?

U Conn is beatable. Fordham is a good game not a tough game and U Del is an easy game
