We do have a very large and long running stadium thread but I haven't seen it in a bit. I'll try and find it and add this to it.

That side is on the west, they switched so visitors would have the sun in their eyes during afternoon games.

Not sure if I posted already but the home side was gone as of last week. The visitors side was demolished the week prior. The track should have disappeared already, as of today. We're progressing towards the June 2016 deadline for stadium opening.

Greetings Doc! McN is @ the top of our list, from what I was told, outside of SHSU [proximity]. McN was the ONLY D-I FCS school who offered us a home-and-home during our heyday of offering only 15 schols @ the then D-I AA level. Hopefully something will hash out w/in the next few months (year) in time for fall 2017 when the SWAC stops the 9-game IC mandate and moves to the 7-game IC format. A probable 5 game OOC sched could be imminent.

Oh yeah, it's certainly set up for that dirt to be turned into seats. It matches up perfectly with the existing lower level. I'm sure that's the reason. I just would've thought with that much work being done putting a larger one in would have happened as well to balance it

Great looking stadium, one that all PVU fans should be proud of. I agree with you on the video board, though may not be as far away as it looks in the picture. It's sitting on top of a berm and 2D pics can distort distance when comparing objects at different altitudes. But at least they have a great new stadium and have a video board. That's more than a lot of places.

Truth be told a HBCU in FBS is long overdue and will only help college football as long as they keep the traditional classic games as part of their OCC schedule. Only conference I can see them going into would be the Sun Belt and maybe working their way into the Mountain West at some point.

Abilene Christian has a new stadium on campus scheduled to open next season corresponding with our first year as a full-fledged FCS member (Southland). Will seat about 12k but can probably handle 15k if necessary. Costs about $40-50 million - all donations. Certainly not as big as some in this thread but will be really nice including some suites.

Part of the reason UNI's seats remain rainbow colored.

To take them off, repaint and reinstall the backs cost a pretty penny.
Taking the backs off permanently would be a massive change that wouldn't go over well, even if most stadiums are without backs
Putting in new seats under the ADA as it stands now vs what it was in 1974-1976 when the dome was built would mean fewer seats (dome currently meets ADA guidelines but would need to stay in line with new requirements with new seats

That's an arcade that was part of the original architecture of the site in 1935. It previously had bathrooms and concessions built into it but those have been removed. The two larger structures within it are entrances to the stadium.

The old Bison Sports Arena(BSA) was completely gutted, added on to, and rebuilt. About two years and $45M. It's not perfect, but perfection(tearing down and starting from scratch) would have added at least $20M to the price tag.

I have an inkling that the trip to App is probably what started some of the higher ups into wanting to look at doing something like that. We got the grand tour and the locker rooms and team areas were very impressive. When we were there the guy giving us the tour had said that he had showed some of the Montana staff around as well. I can't remember if I said it to Alpha or another friend but while we going to the next are of the coaches office I said "bet we start raising money for something like this to upgrade as soon as they get back".

In the renderings, the Champions Center does have some similarities in appearances. If the urinals are Maroon with little Griz logos on the top, then I know where they got that from. xlolx

Got no problems passing them on since I think the image embargo was pretty dumb to begin with(same with the SHAC). All three of the boards in the photo are new. Three more identical boards are on the other end of the field. The big boards have smaller boards on the back side for the higher endzone seats.

I believe if you look close, you can see one of the four short ribbon boards above the field entrance in the lower right corner.

They haven't announced exact capacity. But the new stadium should be 11,500 seats with standing room for 2000 more. The visitor side remains the same as the old home side.

Buffalo Mountain peeking over the tree line, I love it and I hate it...depending on weather I'm running up it or down it. I'll be there every other year cheering on MY Blue and Gold.....and probably another once or twice a year to watch you guys. I hope you fill the place. You were getting decent crowds at the HS Stadium (that was nicer than about half of the other SoCon Stadiums), so hopefully the new home will pull in some more interest.

As i type this message I can see the cranes moving and construction going on this site.....I think they'll finish in time. I have yet to hear of a construction budget to be met in Texas with the building environment going on in the metroplex currently.

Material costs are going up like crazy...skilled laborers like masonry workers, brick layers, etc are in a huge shortage.
