Two women have rings of their own following North Dakota State University’s win on Saturday in the Football Championship Subdivision title game — not championship rings but engagement rings.
WDAY-TV reports that two NDSU offensive linemen proposed to their girlfriends (http://bit.ly/1u2VopB)while fans were storming the field in Frisco, Texas, following NDSU’s 29-27 win over Illinois State. It was the fourth consecutive national title for the Bison.
NDSU offensive lineman Zac Johnson proposed to Trisha Goerts.

Johnson: “Actually, the night before was the last-minute decision to actually do it. I told my mom to bring the ring with her, have it in her purse.”
Goerts: “It all just happened so fast. I don’t even remember what he said to be honest. I just couldn’t stop kissing him and I was so excited and it was just great.”
Several feet away, offensive lineman Jesse Hinz proposed to Gretchen Folkerts.

Hinz: “I wanted our families to be there. I knew her family and my family were going to be there, and I wanted our families to be there and involved and be able to take pictures and savor the moment.”
Folkerts: “It was fun to go out with a bang like this and then start a new chapter in our lives at the same time.”

“The coaches were yelling and screaming,” he said. “Coach (Tim) Polasek and coach (Conor) Riley both said I outkicked my coverage which I’m more than OK with.”

Hinz proposed to girlfriend Gretchen Folkerts, who playfully punched him in the arm before joyfully throwing her arms around him and saying yes.

I know Hinz and Gretchen decently well and iirc it was Danny Luecke (Gretchen's cousin) who got them talking together. Knowing her since freshmen year, I always thought she would go for a different guy who I knew, but he's already engaged. Him and I went on spring break with a few other friends and her friends and my friends just firmed one big party group. Well I'm glad for both of them.

If marriage worked out like their roles on the field...

The linemen would be doing a lot of work for another guy to score?
