After watching Robertson engineer a last minute drive to beat my Tribe for the second year in a row, I'm convinced he's the best player in the country. Harassed all day, and sacked six times, he never lost focus and his strength, athleticism, and accuracy throwing the ball were something to behold.

Robertson never gets rattled and is a flat out winner. His 2 minute drill yesterday is one for the ages. Cool and calm the whole way down the field.

Heck of a player. One of the best I have seen on tape this year.

Robertson has something special about him, much like Matt Szczur did a few years ago for the Wildcats. As the late Al Davis would say, Robertson tilts the field.

I can't imagine he won't get the nod. How is ZZ's year going?

I thought I loved Chris Whitney's style of play, but John Robertson takes it to a whole new level. Have really enjoyed seeing this guy play for 2.5 years now.

I saw him against Syracuse and came away extremely impressed. He's a helluva player. He's got the toughness that Boden had in the early 2000's plus more overall skill.....

Payton Award voting is very stat oriented and Robertson's stats are not very gaudy.

Payton Award voting is very stat oriented and Robertson's stats are not very gaudy.

They're gaudy in the proper context....

Syracuse: Entire game
Fordham: 1 offensive series in the 2nd half
JMU: All but one offensive series
Penn: First half only
Maine: Entire game
Rhody: First half only
W&M: Entire game

It says 7 games played, but the stats he has he's accrued in 5.5 games. These are his pro rated per game numbers
Passing: 313.3 yds/4 TD/.18 INT
Rushing: 76.7 yds/20 carries/.5 TD

If the voters do enough research to see that he has slightly lower numbers BECAUSE he has been so dominate, he will be fine

Late season call up for the Cubs. Got into 33 games. Went .226/.273/.355 in 66 at bats 2 HR 5 RBI. 100% fielding with 48 putouts and an outfield assist.

Wouldn't be surprised if he spends next season bouncing back and forth between Iowa and Chicago. He's pretty much #26 or #27 on the 25 man roster.

I'm guessing that poster meant SDSU RB Zach Zenner when he said ZZ.

That makes more sense..... I see Z's and start thinking about Szczur

Villanova fan on twitter proposed an interesting theory. Robertson was named CAA Player of the Week for the 5th time this season. Personally I would have given it to McBride. Guy shredded our secondary for 200+ yards and 2 TD. Plus you know share the wealth. Someone hypothesized this is the CAA's way of campaigning, help him out by putting at the very least 5x CAA player of the week on his resume
