Another so-so week for the Ivies in the books...

Brown at Rhode Island
Princeton at Columbia
Yale at Cornell - Cornell is worse than Army; Yale should rout them.
Penn at Dartmouth - both teams coming from being beaten down by ranked scholly teams.
Harvard at Georgetown

News stories say that Harvard's senior QB, Connor Hempel, was out with back spasms yesterday. Scott Hosch, third on the depth chart, led the win over Brown. Happy for Hosch, but we need Hempel back.

While it was a great win, you were correct about one thing GG. Army is certainly not as good as the top FCS teams.

Expect Yale to have a bit of a letdown and struggle against Cornell on the road.

Congrats on a superb win Bulldog in the 100th anniversary season of the Bowl!

That makes a bit more sense....no offense to the Bruins, but that score surprised me.

Your modesty is appreciated, but that was a hell of a fine win against a national program that still takes football very seriously. West Point is still West Point.

Penn reportedly lost two defensive starters (including their stud MLB) to concussions against Nova.

Always hate to see guys hurt, but Dartmouth should be able to score some points on Saturday.

And Jeff Monken is still Jeff Monken!

URI - tough call, but it is Brown after all.
Princeton - Poor Blue
Yale - Let down maybe, but still a win
Dartmouth - Could go either way, but I'll go with the home team
Harvard - By a ton, I don't care who the QB is.

Brown at Rhode Island need better play calling than shown against Harvard
Princeton at Columbia schedule isn't helping the Tigers get better
Yale at Cornell Eli stay hot
Penn at Dartmouth on a hunch that Coach Al has them ready for league play
Harvard at Georgetown big if QB plays

Rhode Island - Brown is still whining about the Harvard game
Princeton - blowout #1
Yale - I expect a close game in Ithaca
Dartmouth - if Penn was the home team I would be tempted to pick them
Harvard - blowout #2

I agree with these picks, although I won't be surprised if Harvard trails in the Hoya game early.

I will be surprised, given that Georgetown has scored three points in the first quarter all season.

Absent scholarships, Georgetown regularly loses its recruiting battles on offense, especially with local talent. Where would the Hoyas be today had it signed Fordham QB Michael Nebrich out of Lake Braddock HS?

Do you even consider the FBS-grade players in the area? Or do you even lose kids to D-III area schools that have better programs e.g. Johns Hopkins?

Final Scores:
Harvard 34, Georgetown 3
Princeton 38, Columbia 6
Yale 51, Cornell 13
Brown 20, Rhode Island 13
Dartmouth 31, Penn 13 - Bagnoli's in for a long last season.

Harvard won handily without it best QB (Hempel) and best RB (Stanton). Subs Hosch and Casten, respectively, had great games. Both starters should be healthy for Cornell next week.

Penn won't go 0-10. But the trademark Penn nastiness just wasn't there today.

Can't tell you how many times players would collide, and the Penn guy would get up limping off to the sideline.

Usually, it's the Penn guys putting the hurt on the other team.

Penn won't go 0-10 as long as the Columbia and Cornell games are on the schedule, but otherwise....

Brown v. Penn should be anyone's game. And the game is in Philly.

Ivy League is a tale of two leagues this year: 4 haves, and 4 have-nots.
