Although the 2014 D-II and D-III seasons start only this week, FCS football is in full swing with the polls now out and there have been two upsets last week, down from 8 last year.

Today, we have one game involving an HBCU and a NAIA team.

Texas College at Texas Southern, 8:30 pm.

JK - i have no faith we can even win this 4th quarter. Our offense couldn't pay the refs to run off the clock.

What what a huge let down for CCSU after the win at Towson. Central's offense was flat out pathetic tonight. Give tons of credit to the Danes, but I'd like to think we can't be that bad for the rest of the season and Towson wasn't a fluke. UAlbany totally contained our running game, and our passing game didn't live up to its potential. We couldn't do ***** with the ball.

I still think UA will still struggle in the CAA with their offense. The UA offense scored just 17 points vs. a CCSU defense that is much smaller than what they will see in league play. But if they keep playing that D, they will be in a lot of games.

Albany's defense is better than Towson, no doubt about that. Tonight was an ugly game on both sides, like an old NEC game between the two schools. UA came out on top and anytime you shutout an opponent, there's not much to say. CCSU couldn't get anything going offensively, and most of that is due to the pressure of the UA defense.

However, wasn't impressed with Albany's offense (except for Osborne) at all. This team will struggle to put points on the board vs. anyone they play.

The uniforms are awful. Last two seasons they were provided by Nike but this year the university signed a deal with adidas. And perhaps SIU is actually just showing that MVFC is superior/better than everyone else. Isn't that what all the MVC fans on here keep advertising?

What's wrong with a nice Sun Belt or a MAC team? If all else fails there are always DII teams (they are partial counters and can make the school decent money). No need to whore out to a top 15 FBS team.

Our AD is a moron and our fans are dumb enough to believe Sun Belt or MAC teams wont play us because we're too good. Therefore, the status qou is getting slaughtered once or twice a year for a few bucks while killing team & fan morale and probably turning a recruit or 2 away.

I believe we have Texas Tech next year so that's atleast a little better than Texas A&M, Baylor & LSU.
