Word around Missoula is that Brent Russum committed to the Griz yesterday. Now, before any of you guys criticize, Brent is a Red Shirt Freshman. We'll have him 4 years. And the WR from OSU is a Sophmore and the QB from BG is a Junior. So we'll get 2, 3, and 4 years out of these guys.

Brent Russum Scout.com bio (http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=43&p=8&c=1&nid=616955)

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Lewiston (Idaho) High School...pre- and postseason all-region selection by PrepStar Magazine...two-time all-state offensive lineman...selected first-team All-North Idaho as a junior...played offensive and defensive line at Lewiston High...named first-team All-Inland Empire League from 2002-04 as an offensive lineman...had over 40 pancake blocks as a senior, averaging nine a game...collected 11 quarterback sacks on defense as a junior...helped Lewiston to the state 5A runner-up finish in 2002... collected three letters in football, three in basketball, two in track and one each in baseball and tennis...captained his football and basketball teams as a senior...took first at regionals in 2003 with a shot put throw over 50 feet...named Lewiston High's Most Improved in the field events in 2003...named a 2003 Mega 8 Tournament All-Star in basketball...two-time All-North Idaho selection in basketball...named second-team Inland Empire League in basketball in 2002-03...named to the Idaho Select Basketball first team...averaged 15 points a game as a senior...competed at Adidas Big Time in Las Vegas in 2002 and 2003...also played in the Best of Summer League in Los Angeles in 2002 and 2003...very agile and quick...coached by Emmett Dougherty.

This really gives us a talented and deep Offensive Line with 4 starters back and a 5th (Cody Bologh) that started the playoffs. Now Russum.

Great get for the griz!
But you will have to wait till next year to see him in action!
My old friend is an asst. ad at asu, he will have to sit as per the one time transfer exemption good standing clause!

If this is true then it puzzles me that he would come to Montana. Why not transfer to another IA?

He may not know it yet, when it happened to another bsc school they didnt know until the one time transfer fax came in and it the good standing box wasnt checked off, making him sit the year but still got his aid and could practice!
