From the national weather service to the FM area:

... Wind chill warning remains in effect until noon CST today...

A wind chill warning remains in effect until noon CST today.

* Timing... through Saturday morning.

* Wind chill values... 40 to 50 below zero by morning.

* Other... wind chill values may remain hazardous Saturday
afternoon into Saturday night... with values of 25 below to 35
below zero.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A wind chill warning means the combination of very cold air and
winds will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frost bite
and hypothermia or death can result if precautions are not taken.

P.s. it's cold as **** in my apartment. The weather plastic on the insides isn't doing its job good enough.

Furman has been impressive on the line of scrimmage so far. Few teams are able to compete in the trenches with NDSU. This game reminds me of the Wofford game last year. Hopefully we can open up the running game a bit more in the second half and get to their QB a little sooner. Good game so far.

One more comment...Furman doesn't need to let NDSU take Dakota Dozier out of the game...I've seen a few plays where he has no one to block because the Bison DL left a big hole in the middle. Maybe a delayed hand off up the middle will keep them from doing that.

Score is a lot more one sided than I perceived the game to be. Furman's offense has moved the ball well, but its hard to overcome two stuffs on the goal line and a defensive touchdown.

Good game by the Bison. A team needs to play all 4 quarters to have a chance to beat the Bison. Furman played a good 1st half but the Bison wore them down in the 2nd half.

Their lack of depth became very apparent when our 2's and 3's were running for 10ypc at the end of the game.

Furman had 8-9 in the box to stop the run and played a lot of man-to-man coverage. When Jensen burned them with the pass they switched to more zone coverage and the running game started to gash them in the 2nd half. Furman was a good team but you're right about the depth issue. NDSU was the better team and proved it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I look to see Furman make some serious noise in the playoffs over the next 2 years. They showed they could hang with the best in the nation through the 1st half and as a young team, y'all will improve in '14 & '15. Congrats on a great season of growth for your program and utilize the past 2 games & weeks of practice to win the SoCon outright next year!

As long as we get one that doesn't call us Georgia State at the same time.

Or call us "Purple Paladins". I don't hear anyone talking about the Blue Eagles, Gold Bison, Black and Gold Terriers, etc.

I could go into detail about all of the injuries the team has sustained, and how many guys are playing out of position on both sides of the ball, but it all informs the depth issue.

Fowler inherited a team that lacked a lot of depth. Individually, there were good players (Furman had 9 players in NFL camps this preseason - all Bobby Lamb recruits), but the depth wasn't there. Fowler has thrust a lot of these guys into starting roles regardless of class and experience.

Furman has already just about filled its 2014 recruiting class. They are starting to really bring in some talent again. Once that depth gets re-established, I think Furman will assert itself back as a perennial top 10 team - a position they held for a long time.

One other thought about the defense set. The commentators had it right. Furman matched NDSU's personnel groupings on defense. In the two back look, Furman loaded the box. With the spread look, they brought in more defensive backs.

That was the primary adjustment made by NDSU's offense in the second half. They started running play action on virtually every pass play despite having had little success running the football to that point. They knew Furman would be in heavy run defense against a two back set, and just kept them there while passing.

That said, Furman has (for as long as anyone can remember) been a soft zone-bend don't break defense. What you saw is how they play. They force teams to drive the field on them and try to limit big plays and force turnovers. That's been the Furman MO on defense for twenty years.

Congrats to the Bison. I sweated the start of the second half all during halftime and my sweating was justified:( Good luck the rest of the way

Proud of the Paladins

Agree but the NDSU players said on the radio, after the game, that they didn't make many adjustments, they just executed better. Furman ran out of gas.
