I'm glad someone else noticed this. Eastern Illinois lost a lot of respect, especially considering this was a pass from Garropolo to his best receiver Lora. They were up 56-7 in the fourth quarter against a winless team. It's times like that where you wish someone would have gotten rung up with a nice cheap shot.

They already hammered one FBS team & almost beat a good FBS team, so I'm not sure what that means.

I am not sure what he was taking about. E. Illinois has a good resume to date. Good victories over 2 mid MVFC teams, a good victory over a 3-3 FBS team, a close loss to the now #23 FBS team. And convincing victories over the two conf games they had. I certainly hope he was not trying to imply that Maine's resume was seriously better.

Now as far as running it up... probably. Looks like a stats push. I guess they are hoping people will forget, come award time, that at least some of the stats were gotten against a hapless opponent late in the game.

I was very surprised to see them out there that late. Starters were pulled mid 3rd quarter in their last game. And they really slowed things down for most of that game.

Having said that, how do you keep your first team guys sharp if they aren't playing and running the true offense mid-season? Being the nice guy and not getting your 1st team reps can have detrimental effects when you find yourself in a close game. Especially when you run an ultra high tempo offense. They scored 63 last night but AP is very bad. It's not like they kept the pedal to the floor the entire game. If they had, they likely would have put 90+ on the board.

I am glad you mentioned this, because I wanted to believe that was the reason rather than stats. Appearances can be bad sometimes even if there is no ill intention.

Points by quarter: Q1: 27 Q2: 15 Q3: 14 Q4: 7
Babers brought the Baylor Offense to EIU. In their past 2 games they've ran their true offense a total of 2 quarters. This is a team that scored 20 on NIU in roughly 5mins. I'm not saying EIU is better than every team AP has played but none of those teams run an offense like them. If they really wanted to run up the score they would have scored 20+ in every quarter with ease. As a fan, I think they should've pulled guys sooner but when you look at all the factors I understand why they'd keep guys out there longer in a slowed down offense.

In their previous game 2 weeks ago vs E. Kentucky(as you pointed out beat AP 38-3) they only ran their true offense for 1 quarter and pulled the starters by mid 3rd quarter. Final score 42-7. If you go back and watch film of this one there is no way you can say EIU was running up the score. The 1st team has got to get reps coming off a bye week and with 10 days until the next game. Again you've got to take all factors into consideration.

I am not sure of the true intention. I said "I wanted to believe" it was for purposes of reps rather than stats, still not convinced entirely, but it could have been. If I were the coach I would hate for my starters to get stale simply because we are playing a weak team. This is especially true since they not only had a bye the week prior, it was also a Thursday game also so they will have a 9 day gap to the next game. If I were the coach, I think I would have gotten him a bit more playing time as well. I would feel less inclined if they had had a normal weekly schedule.

Well, Olson was coming from the side and being blocked down, wasn't he? Not sure where else he could go.

If they make tackling a QB in the act of throwing illegal, they might as well start fastening flags to QB's butts.

The big sky has its own rule-set for what is considered a fumble.

You have 4 guys wrapping up a WR who is going backwards but they kept the play live until he is almost down then the ball is ripped out for a fumble. BS call.

The SIU-UNI game is going exactly like I was hoping it would. UNI with emotional letdown after last week, now SIU needs to close it out and have an emotional letdown against NDSU next week. xthumbsupxxsmiley_wix

Not sandbagging, we've played you tough the past two seasons and expect to do so again, but, pick six for the 2nd week in a row - no way that dominating a team that way should be an OT win. 25 1st downs to 9, 177 yds rushing to 37, 450 yds to 250, and we had to win in OT?

Since we won and it won't sound like sour grapes: MVC refs suck in technicolor.
