This past weekend ASU released drawings of their new Athletic Center / Football Operations Building / Press Box. The five story building to be built behind the West Stands will house a 12,000 sq ft weight facility, sports medicine treatment rooms, home football locker room, equipment room, offices for the entire athletics department, meeting & press rooms, and new restroom & concession facilities on the stadium concourse level. The top two floors feature Club Seating, Yosef Club Room, Chancellors Suite & 16 Sky Boxes. A new press facility will cap off the facility. Percy Strength Facility (University of Tennessee) 12,000 Sq. Feet
Woody Hayes Athletic Training Facility (Ohio State University) 8,000 Sq. Ft.
Appalachian's New Weight Room 12,000 sq. feet.


should be considered with the best in the country.

Not really except for how quickly it jumped with plenty of time for more increase.

One more question, i was told in a meeting just 2 weeks ago, it was going to be 7 stories.
I'm concerned that we'll be locked in to no higher stands in front of the new field house.

i think the idea is if we ever expand our capacity by a large amount, they would make it a bowl, and make the east side taller than the west side is now. im pretty sure i heard that somewhere, but i could be way off, but it makes the most sense if they are going to put the athletic complex directly behind the stands.

By the way, its going to look great when its done. I have been to KBS (2001), and its a great scene for football.

I like how it combines the pressbox and suites with the training complex. Very nice.

So it's at $34 Mil now up from 32?

I think the original plan was for 12 skyboxes and now the number is up to 16. I was also told the addition of a totally separate press facility jumped the price.
