A rather glaring omission, especially to mention Texas State, EKU and Hampton as "contenders".

Yeah, not well researched. I don't normally talk down another program, but Hampton has to be taken out of the national spotlight. They are a 6-5 team in most of the other conferences.

Agreed...

Texas State has been to the playoffs once and definitely will contend for the SLC title, but for the national title?

EKU...when has the OVC won a playoff game recently? The OVC is going to have to take baby steps to get back on the national title map...all starts with Jacksonville St vs Furman...

Hampton can win out during the regular season, but when have they showed up in the playoffs?

Unfortunately, that is PAR FOR THE Course, when it comes to getting 1-aa coverage from the BIG Media chains. Unfortunately, THEY DON'T CARE. Why no mention of the already stated contenders, ie MONTANA, total lack of any research. Why mention HAMPTON, sorrry Hampton fans, it is like - Lets look at last years conference champs, oh Hampton had a really good record they must be a CONTENDER. PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
