One thing Mark Speir can certainly do is recruit. I'd be surprised if they didn't have some better horses in the coming years.

WCU finished 119th total defense FCS in 2012, CSU was 47th. That alone makes this a great hire. GO CATS!

I'm calling it, the SoCon streak will end in 2013! Between Elon, Furman and The Citadel at home, I think WCU wins one. Not sure who y'all play OOC but I don't think you'll go o-fer in conference again. That Troy Mitchell kid can play.

As long as he stays healthy and away from mowers I believe he will do well. Just got to get a defense...

I am convinced the dropoff in overall defense GSU had from 2010 to 2011 and 2012 was mostly from him leaving and not the new DC.
I think if he can turn Chuck South's horrible defense into a decent one, he'll be able to turn things around at WCU.

Western will win 2 conference games this season, Troy Mitchell is nasty he had me sweating in Cullowhee this year. I can't imagine how scary he'd be at GaSo or Wofford
