ASU #14 Armanti Edwards QB 6-0 165 Fr. Greenwood, S.C. Greenwood

Remember that name in two years he'll be marching ASU towards a SoCon crown if not another NC.

I'm also from Greenwood, but I never wore #14, But funny thing is my roommate from college, played QB, was from Greenwood and wore #14!

From APP STATE media guide:

Personal: Full name is Armanti Fredrico Edwards ... born March 8,
1988 (18 years old) ... son of Deborah A. Anderson ... cousin, Raynaldo
Gray, plays football at Southern Conference-rival Furman.

No chance. I'm not sure anyone in college football would relish trying to bring down Felton. If there is a better fullback this side of the NFL, I'd like to see him. Looked in the dictionary the other day and there was a picture of No. 45 next to the definition for STUD.

Appalachian State defensive coordinator John Wiley said that Edwards is farther along as a freshman than Richie Williams was. Edwards is a tremendous runner and the fact he is a lefty passer will put some additional pressure on defenses. Have been watching Armanti a lot in practice and he is a keeper. He will be pushing Trey Elder hard for playing time, which can only help Elder too. All this kid needs is experience. ASU's coaching staff is absolutely ectastic about their freshman recruiting class, which includes Edwards, CoCo Hillary (now having been switched from QB to WR, because of Edwards' rise to No. 2 on the depth chart), DB Cortez Gilbert, DT Anthony Williams, RBs Devon Moore and Robert Welton, WR Josh Johnson and tackle Mario Acitelli, who will START his first college game Saturday against NC State as a true freshman.
