Has a IAA team ever beat a IA team that was ranked in the top 25 when they met?

I have another question I was wondering about this morning - when was the last D2 victory over a I-A team? UCD beat UOP in '86 (a week after they beat Minnesota, but I imagine it has happened at least a few times since)

Although I can't imagine it happening these days - are there any D2-I-A matchups at all anymore?

In 1997, North Alabama (D-II) beat Louisiana-Lafayette 48-42 in 4 overtimes.

It was rumored that Minnesota was talking with UND prior to signing NDSU to play this year.

Delaware beat I-A Temple a few times when UD was still Division II.

I don't think Temple counts on here..

Colgate was ranked #20 on 11/7/1977 at 9-0 but dropped out of the poll after moving to 10-0 and then came to DII Delaware to wrap up a trip to a bowl game... I'll stop there, don't want to agonize the Raider fans any more. ;)

Are we having a myopia attack? Is Homer Mye School the only guy who posts here? Have we failed Reading 101?

Read it again!

Has a I-AA school (not YOUR school)

ever beaten

a I-AA team (now catch your breath and read the rest of this very closely - multiple times if necessary)

when said I-AA team was ranked in the top 25?

What are we getting here? Colgate vs. Delaware. Somebody vs. a D-II school; Stop the madness!!!!!

 It says has a I-AA ever beaten a Top 25 I-A school. The answer unfortunately is NO, so we are giving other options. I guess the second post could have said no and we could close the thread. :p

Close enough. Colgate was ranked in the 11/9/77 poll, at 9-0 after beating Bucknell 48-17. The following week, we dropped into "also receiving votes" after beating D-II Northeastern, 48-39, in a blizzard at home. The following week, the Hens did their dastardly deed. :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:
