Clint was battling sophomore Cole Bergquist for the back-up role at quarterback this past spring.

2005: A redshirt for the Griz.

High School: He led Niwot High School to a 12-1 record and the state semifinals his senior year, when he completed 60 percent of his passes for 2,197 yards and 25 touchdowns ... all-state and Colorado's 3A Offensive Player of the Year in 2004 ... named All-Region, All-Area and the All-Area Offensive Player of the Year ... was his conference's offensive MVP ... team MVP, offensive MVP, and captain as a senior ... high school football coach was Ron Tesone ... also lettered in basketball and baseball.

Personal: he is a business administration major His parents are Art and Debbi Stapp of Niwot. Birth date: July 20, 1986. His brother Brion was a quarterback at Holy Cross from 1994-98.

Will he overtake Pate as the #1 QB or not? I think he's the better QB of the two, but Pate has been known to step up at times...

I too think that PD is the best QB on the Kats roster. 89 thinks otherwise though as do many other Kats fans.

Now that PD has had a full season to take in the play book I think he overtakes the starting spot by week three.:nod:
