View Full Version : I-AA/CS Broadcasts on Web?

I'm becoming more and more curious about I-AA/CS games and other events (like pregame press conferences) being available on the web. For example, though Yahoo! Broadcast I can access pregame press conferences, audio streams and (generally) video streams of Lehigh games.

Some conferences take over the internet broadcasting rights (like Big Sky TV) or some offer audio/video of the games for free or for a small fee (Holy Cross and Georgetown, sporadically).

Where can I find feeds of these games over the internet?

I'll update Page 1 of this thread with the feeds I am able to find:

All Central Connecticut State football games are broadcast (audio only) over the Internet for free!

http://ccsubluedevils.cstv.com/multimedia/webbroadcast.html
*(2006 football schedule will be updated soon)

We now use Stretch Internet, after using Sports Juice, which is a much better quality broadcast IMO.

The coverage begins about 15 minutes before kickoff and include a short pre- and post-game shows, with taped segenments from the coach and other features.

----
FYI - we also use CSTV Live Stats feature, which many other schools also use, for all home games and for selected away games (usually only if the opponent is also affiliated with ctsv.com).

Looking at this closely, there are many disparate ways to follow your team:

* online up-to-the-minute statistics feeds
* online audio
* online video
* TV feeds (sometimes live) that aren't online

Problematic is this last one. For example, through my local cable system I can get the Lafayette Sports Network and DVR/Tivo/tape each game, but if you are a Lafayette fan without Dish network and live out of town, you're out of luck when it comes to watching (or listening) online since there's no archive.

Some, also, like Georgia Southern's Eagle TV are behind a subscription firewall. There seem to be a near-endless supply of different possibilities and configurations - not to mention companies (SportsJuice, Yahoo Broadcast, Stretch Internet). Some are free and some are subscription. Some have archives and some do not.

Are there archives of TV broadcasts (like Fox Sports affiliates, CSS, Lafayette Sports Network and others) that would be available online in places that I'm not thinking, like YouTube or Google TV?

It looks like many of these schools not only have broadcasts of their games via audio and video, there are also "coaches' shows" that are available. For Lehigh it's all available through YBC, making it easy, but others are much more difficult.

Could you list how you follow your team on the internet and/or TV?

I can't say enough good things about Strech Internet. First, it is a very high quality sound. Second, archives are great if you missed the live braodcast. They also offer video streaming, although CCSU hasn't offered that yet.

FYI - They have testimonials from schools that may have football games available (audio or video).

Admin, I can't edit Post #1 on this thread anymore. Any chance to allow me to continue to edit it (and, maybe, sticky it?) Thanks...

This will allow me to add to the list of I-AA broadcasts.
