The NCAA has ruled that Tyler Varga is eligible to play. He will be on the field Saturday against Lafayette.

Since Varga received athletic scholarship money as a student athlete for Western Ontario, he was eligible for the FCS one-time transfer exception. The exception allows players to waive the one year in residence requirement when transferring

He's a good player, but he won't be the difference between winning and losing. Yale is actually strong at RB with Cargill, although Varga is a good kick returner and they missed him mostly for that reason last week. Yale loses because their defense is bad and their QB is inexperienced.

Justice served here, I think, though it sucks for the Leopards. Seriously, was Yale really doing anything out of line here?

Funny. Since he received scholarship money, it was the equivalent of an FBS transfer. Probably not something that will be gracing the "non-scholarship" Ivy League press releases.

Looks like he's considered a sophomore. I wonder if he has to give back his rookie of the week award for the GTown game. :D
