JALMOND
September 22nd, 2012, 04:14 PM
Kickoff scheduled for 5pm PDT from Portland's Jeld Wen Field between two former DII rivals in the Southern Utah Thunderbirds and the Portland State Vikings. Both teams are starting conference play with this game, although the Vikings have played Big Sky member North Dakota in a "nonconference" game in week 2. The Thunderbirds bring their all conference quarterback, Brad Sorensen, and currently have a 1-2 record, with the win coming last weekend against DII New Mexico Highlands after two losses to FBS teams. The Vikings are also 1-2 with their win coming in the opening week against NAIA Carroll College and the two losses coming on the road against UND and last week's loss at Washington. Kieren McDonaugh will once again get the start for the Vikings. The Vikings receiver, Justin Monahan is listed as doubtful for the game with a leg injury. Weather called for cloudy with a chance of showers, yet right now the sun is out and not much in terms of clouds.
