And we didn't even use the transfer we did get that week. He is still getting up to speed on the playbook, but I heard that they have a whole little playbook of spread option and roll out pass plays made up for him to come in as a change of pace from our drop back Qb's.

Our offensive line pretty much dominated the line of scrimmage against Middle Tenn. We ran for over 300 yards and they only had about 100. It was like night and day from what we saw from the OL last season. And our defense did a great job against the run.

We had a 24-6 lead and ended up winning 27-21. Our weakest point this game was our kickoff coverage. They scored one of their 4th quarter TD's with an 85 yard KO return followed by one pass play. Then they had a weird successful 2 point play. We were chasing the QB all around the backfield. He ended up throwing the ball up for grabs in the endzone. Three McNeese players went for the interception and the ball got batted up and a Middle Tenn receiver made a diving catch of the batted ball.

Score shouldn't have been as close as it was. We need to get better on kickoff coverage.

Right now, I'm having a good feeling about this team that I haven't had in the last two seasons. We need to keep our 5 year pattern going. 1997-2002-2007-2012(?)

Not sure I agree with the concept, but lots of folks believe that the only bad publicity is no publicity. The entire college football community has now heard of them.

And lucky for Savannah State they get to go out again and get whooped into oblivion by FSU next week!

The thing that I don't like is that the general football viewing populace sees games like this, or the UNC vs Elon rout, and they assume all FCS teams are crap. Of course, the wins by YSU, McNeese and EWU certainly help, and close games by W&M, Wagner and UNI help add some credence to the strength of the division.

It's a shame though that when a FCS team beats a FBS team the headline is never about how good the FCS team is, it's about how poorly the FBS team played.
