Dover, Del. (Aug. 17, 2012) --- Delaware State University Athletics has announced a new partnership with SFMSports.Net for DSU sports broadcasts during the 2012-13 academic year.

SFMSports.net, a sports production and broadcast network specializing in new media technologies, will produce and broadcast all DSU football and men's basketball games, along with selected women's basketball contests, using its digital broadcast system this year. All broadcasts will be available on the network's online and mobile streaming channels.

The broadcasts will feature a 30-minute pre-game and tail gate show prior to each football broadcast, 30-minute all-access pre-game show before each basketball broadcast and a weekly interactive coaches show through the fall and winter sports seasons.

"SFMSports.Net has a greatly improved mobile streaming platform, offering unlimited world-wide reach for smartphone users," said Steve Clendenin, President of SFMSports.Net. "Studies indicate a huge increase in smartphone users listening to sports play-by-play on their phones in recent years, which will allow greater exposure to Delaware State University athletics through this platform."

"We are excited to join forces with SFMSports.Net to broadcast Hornet sports this year," said Delaware State University Director of Athletics Candy Young. "SFMSports.Net's numerous online and mobile streaming options will allow our fans and alumni around the world, including many of our former international student-athletes, to easily follow the Hornets on the air."

All Delaware State University broadcasts can be accessed, free of charge, on the DSU (www.DSUHornets.com) and SFM (www.sfmsports.net) websites, along with SFM's mobile applications.

In addition, archives of each game broadcast, coach and player interviews will be offered.

Stu Paul will be the play-by-play announcer for the DSU football and basketball broadcasts. Paul's experience includes college football, basketball, hockey and minor league baseball play-by-play.

The first DSU/SFMSports.Net broadcast w ill be football season opener on Saturday, Sep. 1 when the Hornets take on VMI. Game time is 2:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium. The broadcast begins at 1:30 p.m.
