CONWAY, Ark _ Assistant coach Perry Eliano has returned to the University of Central Arkansas football staff after a one-year absence, according to Bears head coach Clint Conque.
Eliano coached previously at UCA in 2003-2004 before taking an assistant’s position at Sam Houston State for one season. Eliano, who coached offensive backs and wide receivers in his first stint at UCA, will be in charge of defensive backs this fall.
Eliano, a Texas native, was a strong safety at Stephen F. Austin.
"We're really excited to have Perry back on our staff," Conque said. "He was with us on the offensive side of the ball before and now he's returning to coach the position he played in college, his true area of expertise."
"I think to get him back here from another (Southland) conference school says a lot about our program and our community."
