Congratulations to Heineke, very well deserved.

I thought he was the best offensive player that played against GSU last year... in fact, I thought he was the best offensive player I saw in FCS period.

Besides being a cool moment for this kid (He want's to be a mechanical engineer)

I LOVE that (Mechanical Engineers are cool by default)

That ODU coach is really well spoken (what a leader) I like that guy a lot

Either break the shift key off your keyboard or the "9" & "0". Your little afterthoughts are starting to go way overboard. Every sentence doesn't need a sub description.

Cut the malarky.

As a Monarch fan we were blessed having Thomas DeMarco as our quarterback and proven field general for the program's first three years. I watched Heinicke in several open scrimmages and thought he had a rifle arm and when given the opportunity would be a very good QB for the Monarchs. When Taylor was pressed into action after halftime of the UMass game no one could imagine his poise and the leadership he would immediately bring to the field. As you can hear in his discussing of this award, Taylor is a humble player who has the respect to his players and the coaches. Barring an injury the Monarchs are set at QB for the next three years.

Congrats. It is well deserved. He seems like a very humble kid. I can see a Payton Award in his future.

I am also impressed with ODU's coach. I listened to his press conferences before and after the ODU/CP game in 2010 and came away impressed. What an accomplishment to take a team from nothing to the top ten in just three years.

Whoa! (actual concern) You gotta conceal the full salute before reacting on here next time! (snuck a slang term in there)

Is it too early to assume there will soon be a certain blue logo next to the bison in your sig? (isn't seven enough?)

You know Ursus does what I ask him to do sometimes...
And I might ask him to stomp the liver right out of you the next time you post a disparaging comment in regards to one of my posts

xeyebrowx you'll want to consider that in the future

Biff, I don't really want to be that guy that posts one video as a reply in one thread and then does it again in another that same day. Either step over here Random Videos Thread (http://www.anygivensaturday.com/showthread.php?105502-Random-Videos-Thread.), or just imagine McEnroe fuming those words at the chair ump...

Am I the only one surprised that this kid is only 18? How did an FBS team not offer him a scholarship?

My guess would be because of his slight stature and boyish looks... their loss is ODU's gain though.

Great article on Taylor's recruitment at ODU. This article was written in Feb. 2011 before he signed with the Monarchs.

As a Monarch fan I love what his high school Coach said about BCS schools who pass on him. "If you have an athlete who is as cerebral as Taylor is, that's something special. Forget about his size. Anybody who shoots the kid down because he's not 6-3 or 6-4 is just taking a naive approach."

That's rhetorical, right? :)

Terrance West won CFPA Running Back Award as a freshman.

CBS Sports & NFL Draft Scout have Terrance as the #22 RB before the majority of backs were removed from ranking. Right now there are only 8 backs listed FYI.

He could have 35 or 40 touchdowns next year with the way the team ended out the season. I still think NDSU is the class of the FCS, but ODU sure has a great offense. Coach Wilder probably deserves a lot of credit bringing it from Maine.
